We arrive at my apartment for me to get some clothes and makeup, so that I could get ready for the date with Joey tonight.

Nick sits at my kitchen counter on a bar stool and stares at me through the open door to my room.

"What do you do here when you're alone?" He asks me.

I shrug. "I don't know, normal stuff."

"Hmmm..." He says, looking around a bit before looking back at me. "I don't like that you're here alone." He adds.

"Why?" I laugh, thinking he was being weird. I pick out a dress and throw it onto my bed.

He ignores me and then quickly says. "No, don't wear a dress."

"It's supposed to look like a date, Nick." I stare at him flustered, putting my hands on my hips.

"I don't care." He answers back. "I think you should just pack up a whole lot of shit and just stay with me, honestly."

"What?" I ask, bewildered. "Like move in?"

"Yeah, I don't like it when we're separated."

I walk closer to him. "I thought you found it distracting to be around me, though?"

"I think it's even more distracting to not be around you, and football players get married, Liliana. They are around their wives. If they can do it, so can I." He replies.

"I don't know, that's a big transition. I don't think you're fully thinking about what you are saying."

"I've already thought about it." He says, thoroughly confident.

I stand staring at him, thinking he could quite possibly be losing his mind.

"Well, what about all my stuff?" I question him.

"We'll figure it out."

"—And your house is yours... you know? It's like not mine." I tell him.

"You can pick a spare room and decorate it and hangout in there, it can be yours if you need the space." He replies.

"Nick.." I laugh. "You're sounding desperate."

I get closer to him, and he pulls me in even closer.

"That's because I am desperate, to keep you." He says, gently.

"Can I at least have a couple days to think about it?" I ask him.

"Sure." He replies in a hopeful tone.

The date.

Joey arrives at Nicks house to pick me up for our "date" and I was feeling a little tense. Nick told me not to wear a dress, so I wore something plain. A white crop top and some jeans.

Joey on the other hand... He was dressed to impressed and I would be totally lying if I didn't find the man attractive.

"I'll have her back by midnight, sir." Joey says to Nick, taking my hand through the doorway.
