We finish the movie and I was crying. I was pretty upset that Nick chose this particular film, because I felt as though, he knew how I was going to take it.

"Why are you crying, Lili?" Joey jokingly, laughs. "At least she got her parents back."

"—But she loved him and had to leave him in that place." I desperately, wipe away tears from my cheeks.

The girl had met a young man that was unable to leave the magic world with her.

"I'm sorry, I didn't think about that part." Nick says, through an unstable voice. He had surprisingly, made it to the end of the movie without falling asleep.

"Yes, you did. You love to see me hurt." I sniffle.

"That's not true." He replies, his eyes appeared even more tired than before. "I'd rather make you feel good." He adds, with a visible smile.

Joey bends forward and places his elbows on his knees and studies Nicks face. "Hey, did you take something besides marijuana, Nicky?" For some reason, Joey seemed amused by this.

Nick laughs and tosses back his head with a long happy, groan. "Oh, yeah. I'm feeling it now."

"The good old ol' cough syrup, aye?" Joey asks.

"Mmhm." Nick replies, softly squinting his eyes.

"How much did you drink, man?" He investigates.

"—Like more than half a bottle." Nick answers start to become more lazy as the conversation went on.

I was shocked. "You drank almost an entire bottle of cough syrup, Nick? What the hell, why?" I ask, very concerned for him.

"It's a trick in football. We use it instead of pain meds, unless we are prescribed something. Especially, if we know we're getting drug tested. It'll just show up as Acetaminophen, but it's a hell of a pain killer if you drink a lot of it. Let me guess.. you have a drug test coming up?" Joey questions Nick.

"Bingo.." Nick replies, drawing out the O in the word.

"I don't think that's fucking safe! And don't you think the weed you smoked tonight will show up, anyways?" I stare at Nick trying to make sure he was okay and trying to understand the reason for such reckless behavior.

"It's California, it's illegal. We are aloud to smoke weed, although they prefer us to ingest it. As long as there isn't high amounts in our system we're good. Trust me, we know how to pass a drug test, Lili." Joey smirks.

I take Nicks face in my hands and survey his eyes. "Are you alright?"

He softly, chuckles. "Uh, I'm not sure how to answer that, but I'm feeling pretty amazing right now if that's what you're asking."

I shake my head at him. There was things I still didn't know about this man and it made me wonder if I actually, knew who he really was.
