Later that night.Nick and I had just finished dinner and were cuddling on the couch when Joey finally reappears from upstairs.
"Good morning, sleeping beauty." Nick smirks at him as he rounds the couch. "How are you feeling?"
"Like shit." Joey replies, rubbing the sides of his temples. "You got some Tylenol?"
"Yeah, downstairs bathroom cabinet." Nick answers.
When Joey returns back from the bathroom he stands there for a moment. "Uhh, I just want to say I'm sorry for coming here. I shouldn't have did that and I'm leaving soon." He says.
"You don't have to leave, there's dinner in the microwave for you." I tell him nicely, Nick quickly nudges me beneath the blanket.
I think Joey caught sight of it.
"Nah, I'm good." He replies.
"No, man. Just have some dinner and take a shower at least before you head back to mom and dad. You probably smell like straight alcohol." Nick says.
Joey laughs, but in a slightly annoyed tone. "Alright, cool. I'll do that." —But he doesn't, he goes to the opposite end of the sectional and lays onto his back continuing to rub his head. "After I get rid of this headache." He says.
"Yeah, maybe you shouldn't stay up all night drinking." Nick replies.
"Okay, dad." Joey answers, in a deep tone. "Liliana, aren't you like a doctor or something, how do I get rid of this headache?" He asks, me.
I laugh. "No, I'm definitely not, but you should probably drink water and electrolytes." I tell him.
"You got electrolytes, Nicky?" He asks.
"In the fridge, there's some Pedialyte." Nick responds, frigidly.
"I'll get it." I say.
"No, let him." Nick replies.
"I got it." I give him a stern look, and stand up from the couch. I go to the fridge and pull out a bottle of water and pour him a glass of Pedialyte. I return and hand him both of the drinks.
"Thanks, Lili. I think I'm in love with you." He says.
Nick gives him a sharp stare.
"Relax, I'm only joking." He responds back, waving his hand to excuse his comment. "So, what do you guys got planned for tonight?" He adds.
"Nothing." Nick says, flatly.
"Sounds fun." Joey replies, he looks at me momentarily before taking a big gulp from his glass. "What does nothing, mean? Keeping her locked up inside the house and fucking her all day?"
Nick stands up from the couch, I try to grab his forearm, but he breaks free. "You should just leave right now." He says, overly aggravated.
"I'm clearly joking, but alright." Joey stands up now.
"No, stop. You both just need to stop with this back and fourth bullshit. If you guys need to talk about what happened because it's very evident to me, that you both haven't worked past it then, I'll go upstairs and you guys can do that." I say.
