"I think you should go home, Liliana." Kayla says to me.I stare at her unamused. Who the fuck did she think she was talking to?
Joey starts laughing. "I think you should go home, Kayla." He replies, while tying the boat to the dock.
"Why the hell did you bring her here, Joey?" She groans. "You just made Nick really upset and he's been happy lately."
"Has he been? Because I wouldn't fucking know, Kayla. You're always so far up his ass." Joey says, angrily.
"Yeah, maybe that's what he needs right now, Joey!" She says his name in an annoying tone.
"Why don't you go chase after him, then? Since you think you're making him so happy." Joey says.
"I will. I'll always chase after him. I would never leave him." She stares at me.
"Haha. Okay, psycho." Joey snorts. "Good luck with that."
She makes a frustrated sound and then turns around and stomps back to the house. Okay, so she clearly, hated me, but I didn't really care.
Joey turns his head to look at me as he finished the knot in the rope he was tying. "You alright, Lil?"
"Yeah, I'm fine." I say, tucking my hair behind my ears. "I should probably go, though."
"What, no. Please stay, I'll make them leave."
"Joey, I really can't be around Nick and he obviously doesn't want to be around me."
Not to mention seeing him again brought back a flood of memories good and very bad ones. Coming over here was a big mistake, and I felt like I was putting myself right back at the starting line.
"They'll be gone before we even get back inside." He says, stepping off the boat and giving me his hand.
"I don't know.." I grumble taking his hand and stepping out onto the dock. I had a feeling Nick wasn't going anywhere, but I could be wrong.
"Come on, Lili. Don't let that little cunt get to you. You were here before her and probably will still be here long after her. She's nothing, okay?"
"She's clearly something, Nick is still with her." I tell him.
"Yeah, cause she's a good lay. That's the only reason. He doesn't love her.. I hope you know that."
"What are you doing, Joey?" I look directly into his eyes.
"What do you mean?"
"Why did you bring me here? To fuck me? To parade me around in front of Nick?" I bitterly, question him.
"I brought you here to hangout. I fucking miss you Liliana, and Nick does too, even if he won't say it."
My body starts to shiver and it was nearly still eighty degrees outside, so it definitely wasn't from being cold. I think I was going into shock.
"How the hell do you think this is going to work?!" I snap at him.
"What?" He stares back at me.
