I knew from the second I seen Nicks face, that this was not going to be good. He was clearly angry and Joey was still fuming from that idiot on the beach. This was like gasoline and fire meeting for the very first time."Whoa, it's okay, Nick." I say, reaching my arms out towards him, as he stalks forward.
"You both left your phones here, I've been sitting around worried as fuck." He replies.
"It's all good, we just went and got ice cream, chill the hell out." Joey, says.
"Ice cream?" Nick stares Joey in the eyes. "You took MY fucking girlfriend to go get ice cream? Let me guess, on the beach, my spot?"
"Nick..." I try to interject, but he wasn't having none of it.
"Lili, go sit down." He says, pointing to the couch. He was so pissed. His face was red.
I do exactly what he says.
"Wow, Nick. You gonna talk to her like she's a dog now? Looks like you got her trained." Joey peers at me. "God, you are so fucking submissive. I bet he has fun playing with you. Has he done that yet?"
"What is that supposed to mean?" I ask, from my seated position on the couch.
Nick shoves Joey hard and Joey quickly shoves him back. I immediately jump back up to my feet. "No! Stop it!" I try to scream loud, but watching them about to fight was like pouring ice cold water over the top of my head. I felt like I could barely breath, let alone scream.
I watch them as they wrestle each other back and forth for control.
"Dude, back up!" Joey, yells. He finally pushes Nick backwards. "I didn't think it would be that big of a deal." He pants.
"Oh, yeah... because you're just such a good person." Nick snorts. "—And you knew that was going to be a big deal. I told you I wanted to take her there."
"When? Two fucking months from now?" Joey replies.
"You know what I think?"
"What do you think, Nicky?"
"I think you can't stand that I grew up and now you have to live in your little brothers shadow and that hurts you so fucking bad. I get it, I do. You want to have what I have, but you will never be able to take it from me Joey, never. Because I will never let you." He says.
Joey laughs. "Oh, you're such a big man, Nick." He sarcastically says. "—But just remember who came first, and paved your way. If anyone one took anything from anybody, it was you."
"BECAUSE YOU FUCKING LET ME!" Nick erupts.
"Stop!" I scream. "Nick, you are being an asshole!"
He turns and looks at me, harshly. "I'm being the asshole?" He asks me.
"Yes!"
"See Nick, I don't have to take anything from you. It just eventually comes to me." Joey says.
"Joey, you too! You both are being assholes!" I stare up at him.
