"Are you okay, sweetie?" Cheryl asks me as the four of us return back to the beach shore.I wrestle out my braid and try my best to smooth down my salty wet hair. "I'm okay." I reply softly, as I wring out the remaining water.
"I'm okay, too." Kayla, says out loudly.
"Looks like you two girls got a little angry out there." Cheryl looks between the both of us.
"It's just friendly competition." Kayla smiles as if to be unbothered by the incident.
"Who's down for some football now?" Joey asks, mischievously.
"I'm okay." I eye a stall of outdoor showers by the parking lot. "I think I'm going to rinse off." I say to no one in particular.
"Alright, you coming back?" Joeys eyes made a helpless plea to keep me here.
"Yeah, I'll come say goodbye."
"So, you're leaving then?" He keeps his gaze on me.
"I just have some stuff to do today." I tell him.
"Like what?" He laughs.
"Joey, honey. Stop interrogating her." Cheryl, says.
"No, it's fine." I smile. "I promised I would help Mark paint this banner for the football team."
"Me and Nick could come help you guys. Nick is actually really good at painting, right Nicky?" He asks him.
Nick stands silently ignoring his brother.
"Really? I've never seen Nick paint a day in my life." I laugh.
"I have." Kayla cheerfully, boasts. "We went on a wine painting date. He is really good, but unfortunately we have plans later, so he won't be able to come help."
"When are you doing it?" Nick asks, which catches me off guard.
I stare up at him and I can feel my stomach start to fill up with butterflies as his eyes stay fixed to mine. "I don't know, I can start whenever." I reply, anxiously.
I had to remind myself five times within three seconds to keep my eyes focused on his face. His swimming trunks were soaked and they hug him tightly against his body and crotch area. Without even needing to look down I could see the large shape of him where his shorts were embracing his thick package.
"I'm free after eight, if you guys really need help." He finally, says. "Also, Joeys terrible. Don't let him anywhere near that banner." He softly, smiles and when he does this a flood of endorphins wash through my body.
"Yeah, but.. weren't we taking Boomer for his night walk?" Kayla, questions Nick.
"We can do that before eight." Nick tells her.
"Who's Boomer?" I ask, confused.
"That's our baby." Kayla says, staring at me in amusement to my confusion.
"That's our dog." Nick quickly, corrects her.
"Oh, you guys got a dog together?" I stare at Nick. I don't know why, but for some reason that really fucking pissed me off. I felt the heat flash across my face.. was this bitch living with him?
