Nicks house.Once the three of us are inside his house we all just kinda stand around. Not really knowing what to say or do. I've never been in a situation where I was in my currents ex house with his new girlfriend or... whatever she was. So, this was going to be pretty difficult for me, to say the least.
"I'm going to go change out of these clothes and have a quick shower." Nick says.
"I'll go with you." She replies, starting to follow him.
"No, just stay down here with her."
I give him a look as if he were crazy.
"I'll be quick." He adds, looking back at me.
I take a seat at one of the barstools at the kitchen counter and watch him disappear upstairs.
She sits down as well. "So, how do you know Nick?"
"We're friends." I tell her, not wanting to divulge much information.
"Like friends, or friends with benefits? I mean.. he clearly has a thing for you." She questions.
I laugh. "I'm not sure you would want to know the answer to that question."
"So, he's fucking you too, then."
"He was at one point, yeah. He was my boyfriend at one point, actually." I explain.
"Oh, wow. He gave you the girlfriend title?" She asks, a bit shocked. She brings up her arms and rest them on the countertop.
"I don't have that title anymore. Don't worry." I found it odd that I was trying to comfort her. She shouldn't even be in this house, or even be able to sleep in his bed, I thought.
"Well, I'm sorry about what happened to you tonight. It's a good thing he was there for you." She says.
I wanted to be mean to her, but I couldn't. A part of me felt bad for her, I wondered if she knew he was only using her for what she had between her legs.
Finally, Nick comes back down stairs. He was wearing shorts, no shirt. This annoyed me, because he looked so damn, good. I didn't like that she got to see him shirtless. It didn't feel right to me.
"Do you want me to make you some tea?" Nick asks me, walking into the kitchen.
Both her and I stare him. "As long as it's actual tea this time." I reply.
Nick and I both softly, chuckle. "It will be, I promise." He looks over his shoulder as he retrieves a box of tea bags from the right drawer. As he looks over his shoulder and shakes the box.
"Oh, that's the tea you were talking about."
Him and I share a quite laugh again.
"What?" The blonde asks, obviously confused.
"It's an inside joke." Nick replies.
"Okay. What's the joke?" She asks.
"It's a long story right, Lili?" He looks back me again.
