Later that day.
I stay with him, I couldn't imagine leaving him during a time that both of our emotions were so high. As much as we both hurt one another, we were the only ones that could comfort each other.
We lay on the couch and he holds me next to him as we watch a movie. It felt so nice just to be together without arguing for once.
—but then my phone rings.
It was Jimmy.
I sit up in a nervous manner, knowing that I would have to cancel on him. For some reason this made me feel super guilty.
"Hello?" I answer.
"Hey, Liliana, it's Jimmy."
"Hey, Jimmy."
As soon as I said his name, Nick sits up now and looks at me. "Hey, Jimmy." He says, loudly.
I stare at him with a 'what the fuck' kind of look. He knew better than to do that.
"Is that Bosa?" Jimmy asks.
"Uh, yeah. I'm over here working on him right now." I quickly, try to cover up my tracks, giving Nick daggers for eyes.
"At his house?" He questions me. I can hear the suspicion in his voice.
"Yeah."
"Oh, I didn't know you made house calls?"
"I usually don't, but he pulled a muscle working out and he was in a lot of pain."
Nick smirks at me and shakes his head. I think it was entertaining to him to see me have to lie to Jimmy.
"Okay. Well, I was wondering if we are still on for tonight? I'm really looking forward to taking you to the game." He replies.
The fact that this man was so sweet, hurt me more to have to turn him down, but I was in love with Nick and I didn't want to ruin the chance of us rebuilding our relationship. Especially, since we had made so much progress in the short amount of time that we've tried to make things better.
"I'm really sorry, Jimmy. I was really looking forward to it too, but I'm kinda caught up here right now and I'm feeling pretty exhausted." I tell him.
There was a pause of silence for a moment.
"Are you hooking up with Bosa? Can you just tell me now, so that I don't have to think there's a chance with you." He asks, bluntly.
"Um, what?—No. And you already know that I can't be with anyone from the team, that's against policy."
"Well, George said something a long the lines of to leave you alone, because Bosa already had something going with you and now you're at his house so, you could imagine why I'd think such a thing."
I start to become overly flustered, what was wrong with these men? "Well, George isn't very smart then, because there's nothing going on, and I don't appreciate you guys talking about me like that when you both know nothing about me. Also, if I choose to be friends with Nick that's no one's business."
