—But we didn't stop. I was feeling petty.

Her and I both put a finger down. She keeps her eyes on me as I do this.

"Wha-What?!" Zara, breaks out into a hysterical, fit of laughter. "How many times are you guys going to go after the same girl?!"

"What does that mean?" I confront her.

"Sorry." She collects herself. "I just remember they use to do this all the time after me."

"Really?" I turn and stare at Nick and he shakes his head at me in protest.

"Oh, I mean..." She trails off as she catches Nicks eyes glaring into her. "—They just always had these stupid, little competitions with one another. I'm sure you know by now..."

"For girls?"

She looks towards Nick.

"Go ahead, tell her. She should know, right?"Nick says.

"No, don't." Joeys voice was firm, it came out in a warning tone.

"Why shouldn't I tell her, Joey?" She looks between him and I. "If I was her.. I'd want to know."

"Tell her." Nick keeps egging her on..

My heart was pumping so much blood to my head at this point. I feared I might pass out. I wasn't sure why Nick was being like this all of a sudden, what the hell was he trying to prove?

It couldn't have been anything good.

"Please, tell me." I gently, reply. I couldn't handle this anymore...

It hurt, all of it hurt so much. I just wanted it to be over.

"Is that the reason you invited her here, huh?" Joey, questions Nick. I could see the anger in his eyes. "—To make me look bad? To make me look like some, fucking psycho?!"

"You are." Nick says, flatly. "—And I won now. And I bet you can't fucking stand it." Nick stood up from the couch.

I inhale, sharply. "Don't say that!" I give him an angry look. "Don't say you won, that sounds fucking disgusting. I'm not a prize."

"I had her alone on this boat a couple months ago, and I could have easily, fucked her." Joey practically, spits at Nick.

"Joey, what the fuck?!" I yell.

Nick laughs. "Oh, yeah. Then why didn't you?"

"—Because you actually, fucking love her!" He breathes. "And I'm done with it. I'm over it."

He rubs his fingers roughly through his hair in a frustrated manner. "And if you really want to know, I did not try to fuck Lili at her apartment. I honestly, tried to leave... did you ask her that?"

This was it... this whole thing finally was coming to a head...

Nick looks at me.

"It's true." I sheepishly, answer. "He really did try to leave."

"Yeah, so.." Joey says.
