Chapter 31

Shadow, M, The Great One, Twisted Rainbow, Hypno and Assistant made it back to the village. The Great One was still carrying Shadow. Lucian was sitting on the well at the center of the village. He looked up and saw them all. He gasped. "Guys!" He shouts. He ran over to them. The Great One set Shadow down. Shadow groaned in pain from his hip. Lucian gasped and froze when he saw Shadow and M. "Shadow! M! You guys are back!" He exclaimed. Lucian ran over and hugged Shadow. Shadow gasped. Lucian pulled away. "Are you two okay?" He asks. Shadow groans. "We're fine." He says. "Shadow?!" Someone shouts. Shadow looks over. Sonny was there. He ran over to him and M. "Sonny!" Shadow exclaims. Sonny hugged Shadow. "Thank God Steve you made it back here safe." Shadow says. "We saw him near the outskirts of the village and he told us you all were at the warehouse." Lucian says. Sonny nods. "Well, at least he made it back here safe." Shadow says. M nods. The Great One sighs. "Guys!" Someone shouts. They all look over. Aiden was there. He ran over to The Great One and hugged him. Shadow and M looked at The Great One shocked. The Great One hugged back when Aiden hugged him.  "Hey, buddy." The Great One says. Aiden looks up. "Are you alright?" He asked worriedly. The Great One nods. "I'm fine." He says. Shadow stared at them shocked. The Great One looked at him. "Oh... Right." He says. Aiden looks at Shadow and M. "Who are they?" He asks. "This is Shadow and M." The Great One says. Shadow and M look at each other. The Great One picks Aiden up and puts him on his arm. "This is Aiden." He says to Shadow and M. Lucian nods. "He was worried about you all." He says. Twisted Rainbow smiled. Shadow and M looked at each other confused. "We'll explain later." Lucian says. "Lucian, Shadow has a broken hip." Hypno says. "What? How?" Lucian asks. Sonny looks at him. "He fell off a tree and broke his hip while trying to catch me." He says. "Yeah. Sonny is from one of the worlds in the multiverse, he was the last steve in that world." Shadow says. "Oh." Lucian says. Shadow nods. Sonny looks down. "Alright. I'll help you with your wound." Lucian says. Shadow nods.

Lucian brought them all into the house they all were staying at. Shadow sat down on the couch. He groaned in pain. Lucian went to get him something for his hip. M sat next to Shadow. Lucian came back a few moments later. Lucian wrapped a bandage around Shadow's waist to help his hip. Shadow winced in pain. "Sorry." Lucian says. The Great One sighs. Lucian then finished fixing up his wound. Shadow sighs of relief. "Thanks." He says. "No problem." Lucian says walking off. M looks at Shadow. He signs asking if he's okay. "I'm fine. Don't worry." Shadow says. Sonny looks at his arm and saw something. "Shadow, what is-" Shadow gasps and pushes his hand away. "I-It's nothing!" He says quickly. The Great One looks at him confused. Shadow stood up. "I got to go." He says walking off somewhere. "Is he okay?" Aiden asks. "I hope." Sonny says.

That evening, The Great One was walking around upstairs. He was looking for Shadow. But then, he gasped. He starts growling in pain again. The Great One gasped and touched his back. He cried out in pain. It was hurting again. The Great One quickly ran to another room.

The Great One ran into the bathroom and hunched over the sink in pain. His back had started hurting more now. He groaned in pain and tried to stand back up. But right when he did, he staggered back into the wall. His knees buckled underneath him, and with a soft thud, he hit the floor again. The pain in his back was worse than ever. He grabbed the wall and tried to stand back up. He struggled for a moment but was able to stand back up. He hunched over near the sink again. But then he noticed something. His right horn was still broken and wasn't growing back anytime soon. He sighed but then he noticed a knife on the sink. He picked it up and looked at it closely. It was a kitchen knife. The Great One didn't know why it was here but he didn't really care. But then he got an idea. He looked at his broken horn. Then he sighed and raised the knife to his head. The Great One sucked in a breath and cut into the skin of his head. Almost immediately, blood flowed out of the wound he had cut. The Great One cut deeper into his head trying to cut off the rest of his broken horn knowing it wouldn't grow back at all. Or at least not until the rest of that one was gone. The Great One growled in pain but kept digging the knife deeper into his skin. Finally, he ripped the knife out and the horn fell off. Blood dripped on the ground from his head and from the knife. The Great One quickly wiped the blood off the knife and cleaned it up off the floor so no one would see what happened. After he cleaned the blood up, he looked at himself in the mirror. There was a massive wound on the right side of his head where his right horn used to be. He sighed. But he knew it would grow back now at some point. But then he looked at the knife and realized something. He gasped and quickly ran to find Shadow.
