11 years ago"Ma, today is a very special day! I can't be late!" You shouted at your mom. You were all set for the first day of middle school, you were nervous about what you were about to see, yet you wanted to get it over with.
"I know mija, but just wait 5 more minutes and then I can take you to school." Your mom replied. She had to finish up her work for her job, at the time you didn't know what she did as a living and you didn't really care.
You groaned at loud.
"Go outside with Kevin and talk with him for a bit. Until I'm finished with this, okay mama?" Your mom told you. She was working on the computer and she was losing her patience because of your nagging.
"Pero ma-"
"Go." Your mom said sternly.
You groaned and peaked outside your window to see Kevin building a sand castle. You smiled to yourself and walked out of your apartment. The hot air touched your skin sending shivers down your spine. You loved the feeling of the hot sun, it's one of the many things that you loved.
"Hey Kevin!" You said in your high pitch voice. Kevin turned around and brushed off his sandy hands.
"Hey y/n! He shouted. You crouched down to the sand puddle and looked at his castle.
"How'd you do that?" You asked him. There was no bucket or castle maker in sight. The castle was pretty detailed with windows, doors, and texture.
Kevin chuckled and shaped out the the castle more.
"I put my fingers to work." He replied. You giggled and stood up straight. Kevin saw that and also stood up straight.
"Are you scared? To go to middle school?" You asked Kevin. Your stomach was filled with butterflies due to how nervous you were. This was like a big step for you, finally going to be considered a 'big kid' and not a little elementary kid anymore.
"Yeah I am! And especially because those people who bully me are going to go." Kevin pouted. You chuckled seeing Kevin whine, there are these people who bully Kevin because of his dead dad. Though it's messed up, Kevin tries to make a joke out of it.
"Those people are not something to think about. Think about our classes!" You said trying to get his mind off of it. You and Kevin hoped you had the same classes, because you both don't have any other friends. Well you don't at least.
"Oh right I forgot!" Kevin responded. He quickly took of his backpack and dug in it to find his schedule. He came to a stop and pulled out a long paper, and waved at you to crouch down next to him.
"Get your schedule out and we can compare!" Kevin exclaimed. You rapidly took out your schedule and placed it in the middle between you and Kevin.
Your eyes went from yours to his, and sadly you guys only had gym and lunch together. You let out a loud whine.
"Who am I going to talk to the whole class?" You whined. You didn't have any friends at all in the school besides Kevin, you guys had been friends since diapers. You and Kevin always had the same classes, which was pretty ironic.
"I guess were going to have to make new friends." Kevin whimpered. You frowned looking at the sand castle.
"Hey at least we can eat together." You suggested. Kevin smiled at you warmly. Even though your tone sounded okay, you were crying on the inside. You knew no one from the school and you hate socializing with people like that. Anyways, the people are all weird.
You and Kevin both stood up, stretching. You wish that you could have a friend in all of your classes with you. Though, we would have to wait until next year.
