Thank you uyhauwa
~Brie~
The elevator doors opened on my floor and I stepped out.
“Hey, Brie. You okay?” Avery smiled.
I nodded.
“Yes, you've asked me that four times today already.”
“Oh, you know... I'm just checking up on my favorite work bestie.”
I nodded and gave her a half smile.
“Thank you.”
She nodded back and I kept walking. I took a turn and approached the grand oak doors of Aiden's office. It was cracked open. I knocked and allowed myself in.
“I—uh, sorry, Mr. Corleone. I'll come back later.”
He looked up from his laptop and gestured for me to come in and take a seat. He was on a conference call with some of his business partners.
I let myself in and chose a seat far away from him. It was almost the end of the week. Cynthia would be back on Monday and my job as his temporary assistant would be over.
I shook my head and drowned out whatever the hell he was talking about. Instead, I busied myself with browsing through the files on his desk. Before I knew it, I was correcting some documents and making little notes on which departments we would have to call to follow up on.
I was too invested because when I finally looked up from one of the documents I was reading, it was just Aiden and me in the room... without the conference call. He was watching me with curiosity.
“Anything that needs my urgent attention?” he looked at the pile of papers that had sticky notes attached to them.
“Nothing I can't handle. Unless you have something I need to work on” I said, getting up from the chair.
“I don't have anything,” he said, looking at my chest.
I glanced at the blouse I was wearing today.
What is he looking at?
“Look, Brea—”
“Mr. Corleone if that's all, I would like to take these and head out to the marketing department.”
“You're going to marketing?”
He looked at my chest again.
“Yes, that's why I came here. I won't be long though. They're about to shoot the holiday advertising calendar and I was asked to come help” I told him.
Aiden hummed.
“Is that a problem?”
“No. But I will be tagging along” he added, grabbing his blazer from the back of his chair.
“You don't have to.”
“I do,” he said with annoyance. “Especially when your tits are on display” he muttered lowly, but I heard him.
