"Will you be my girlfriend?"
It took you maybe five seconds to reply, but they felt like an eternity to Yoongi. He was willing to beg and plead mercy. Anything, as long as he got to call you his.
"Yes. Yes I will." A big goofy grin took over your face.
Yoongi laughed and pulled you into a hug. He wanted to kiss you, but didn't want to push his luck. He held you tight and you snuck your arms around his waist. Even after getting drenched in the rain, the smell coming off of Yoongi's skin was intoxicating. It soothed your soul.
You stayed like that for an eternity, until the weird angle in which you were sitting made it necessary for you to move and even then, Yoongi didn't break skin contact, he kept your hand in his.
The rain had subsided a bit, the street could be seen now through the glass. You had no idea how long you had been inside the car, but it wasn't important. You were dating Min Yoongi. You were Min Yoongi's girlfriend. In no universe were you capable of even imagining that.
"So…" he began, while rubbing circles on your hand with his thumb, "how does this work?"
You chuckled, "I think I should be the one asking you that," you were being completely honest, "I've never dated anyone famous before, and like I told you, it's been three years since I've even been on a date. I don't know the protocol when it comes to even approaching you."
And then your verbal diarrhea hit, a classic symptom of your anxiety, which usually meant you were getting ready to run.
"Like…how do I know I won't be interrupting your creative process if I call you? Or am I even allowed to visit you at work? Do I need to sign an NDA? What happens when you go on tour…well, if we're even together when you go on tour?"
Yoongi was a bit startled at the rapid fire questions you were spitting out, but he said nothing, he only listened and kept rubbing your hand.
"And what happens if I have to work when you can meet me or call me?...Will you be mad that I can't come to you and that I prioritize my responsibilities and career? Or even my family?"
Your voice went gradually lower and Yoongi could see the change in your eyes. This was a sensitive topic and you were clearly worried he'd be upset if you weren't at his beck and call.
"Y/n…breathe," he gave you a smile and slightly raised his eyebrows as he waited for you to do just that, he took a deep breath and slowly let it out and you followed suit. Once you had calmed down he continued.
"Alright, first of all, why would I ever be upset that you are prioritizing your family or your work over us? Y/N, I'm not in this as a game, but I know you have a life, you have things that were there before me and will be there after I leave."
You squeezed his hand and your eyes jumped to his, he immediately realized the poor choice of words he used.
"I'm not saying I'm leaving. It was just a saying. Y/N, I want you to thrive in your life, I want to support your decisions and, if you let me, help you reach your dreams, but you're your own person. That's one of the things I find extremely attractive in you. Believe me, I don't want to be with someone who can't function if not attached to the hip to their partner."
It was amazing how he knew just what to say to calm you. What you needed and wanted…what you had lacked for the past ten years. Min Yoongi was the answer to your prayers.
You nodded and kept squeezing his hand. "I know that I have issues and I really hope that when I tell you about them, you won't go running for the hills. But I will understand if you do."
