Oatmeal sucks

Y/N's and mixed povs

It wasn't until you heard something like a pan bang against the floor and an offended semi scream from, what sounded like Seokjin, that you woke up.

You weren't startled or scared, you knew you weren't alone and you had taken enough anxiety meds the previous night to knock out a bodybuilder, so you were…lethargic, for a lack of a better word. Numb? Disconnected? Yup. A mixture of all of them.

You sat up and stayed there, just gazing at the wall for a few minutes, letting everything sink in again, without the alcohol, without the meds and without Yoongi as a buffer.

Hans found you, he hit you. You broke down in front of all the BTS members, Seojun and Han. Huang and Lena were handling things with your office. At one point, Yoongi had blamed himself and now, they were all threatening to leave BigHit.  It was all too much, you shook your head and stood, grabbing the hoodie Yoongi had obviously left out for you and with your hands stuffed in the pockets, you headed towards where you could hear the commotion.

The kitchen was…an organized mess. At first glance you could see Jimin buttering up toast, Hobi pouring juice, Jungkook cooking what smelled like bacon and one disgruntled Seokjin scolding Taehyung. You stood there, quietly observing.

“Taehyunga, I told you not to mess with the oatmeal. I told you! I was working on caramelizing the bananas but no, you had to try and snag one and drop the pan. It's like we're back at the first dorm again. Just go away, all of you, let me cook.”
He was flustered and Tae looked embarrassed.

“Yah! Do you forget my job in the military was in the kitchen? I can cook, you just decided to cook the blandest thing in history.” Jungkook was waving his little spatula at Jin.

“Oatmeal is not bland if cooked and seasoned properly. That's why I needed the bananas. Besides, noona needs something soft for her stomach. No more hangover soup.”

“Then you should've gone with rice porridge.” Interjected Jimin.

“No. Noona is probably still used to a western hangover cure, so she needs carbs, grease and for you all not to be overbearing.” Countered Jin.

“Tell that to those two then,” said Jimin while pointing at Jungkook and Tae, “they're the worst. They vie for her attention almost as much as Yoongi hyung does. He really will kick them one day.” He laughed and the sound was so angelical and contagious that you couldn't help but laugh too.

They all turned to you at once.

“Noona! You're up!” Taehyung was beaming and overly excited and Jimin just gave Jin a look that said ‘see what I mean?’, as Jungkook hit Tae with his spatula.

“Good morning, Y/N-ssi,” Seokjin bowed, “I hope we didn't wake you up?” They all bowed in sync.

You returned the bow. They were all in various states of disarray, some of them slept in their clothes and some, particularly Tae and Jimin, seemed to have gone through Yoongi's second closet in the guest room.

“You didn't.” It was a white lie, but you didn't want them to feel bad or anything, “I was already awake, just didn't want to leave the bed.” They all nodded.

It was a bit awkward without Yoongi there and also, without Namjoon. He still did a good amount of translating for the guys even when their English had improved a lot, but they were still not fluent. You, on the other hand, were fluent enough in Korean, only missing some technical terms and some satoori, but you still got tongue tied when nervous.

Tae went to the fridge and brought you a bottle of electrolyte water, signaling you to drink it while he flashed you the sweetest boxy smile ever. “It will help. We also have ibuprofen.”
