Huang wasn't saying anything. He was silent as he drove and it was putting a damper on your night. He sounded fine over the phone.
"Ok. This has to stop, Huang-ssi. Come back to me, you did nothing wrong. You are not to blame for my insecurities and I'm fine. Please, don't do this." You said as you turned your whole body to face him as he drove, looking straight ahead.
"Noona," he began, still not looking at you, "I feel like dirt. I shouldn't have teased you like that, it was a stupid thing to do. You have no idea how beautiful you really are and I messed with your head. I didn't mean to do so."
You groaned in annoyance. "Kim Huang, annoying the shit out of each other is what siblings do. Believe me, I know. Besides, you're ruining what has been the most perfect night in three years for me!"
That made Huang smile. If you were happy, he was happy.
"Perfect, hu?"
You couldn't help but giggle. Your night had indeed felt like perfection, other than your anxiety showing up at the most unexpected moments, you actually had fun and you felt giddy. It was as if everything that happened was rose gold.
"Yes, perfect. He is the most perfect gentleman I have ever met, Huang-ssi. He respected my boundaries, made me feel comfortable and safe," you sighed, dreamily, "he's not at all how people portray him to be. He's nice and sweet and kind. He's pretty hot too."
"Ewww. TMI, noona, tmi." Huang said through his laughter.
You were driving through the streets of Seoul, which were bustling with lights, people and all around energy. When people said that New York was the city that never sleeps, it was obvious to you that they had never set foot in Seoul.
Once you reached your building and you were about to get off the car, you turned to your friend. "I'm meeting him for lunch tomorrow. "
His eyes went wide."Tomorrow? A second date so soon?"
"He said he wants to spend as much time as he can with me. That's a good thing, right?"
"That's a great thing, noona. At what time do you need me to come pick you up?"
You shook your head. "No need, you don't work weekends. I'm not making you drive me. I'm taking the subway to the office and he's picking me up there, he has some recordings to do tomorrow anyway."
He frowned. "It really is no problem, you know that. Besides, how are you going to get home after your date? You're not riding the subway late at night, I don't care how safe this place is."
"Relax, Huang-ssi. I'll call a cab," You raised your hand at him to stop him from interrupting you, "and if it's really late, I will call you, okay? I promise. Besides, you will be tracking my phone. At least I expect you to be."
"You bet I will. But noona?" He looked at you, straight in the eye. His stare was very intense, it always had been, "You don't have to be afraid. Not of Yoongi-ssi, he gives me a good feeling. Be careful but don't be afraid. This is good for you."
In the pit of your stomach you knew he was right. There was a warm feeling there that had been lost to you for a long time.
"I know. I'll text you tomorrow, okay? Thank you for bringing me home. Good night, terrible one." You teased and then you headed towards your building.
On your way up to your apartment you couldn't stop smiling. It was as if the switch had been turned to the on position and couldn't be turned back. You typed in your code to get in, shielding the pad with your body, your way of blocking anyone from seeing it -even when there was no one around-, got in and let a little squeal out.
The first thing you did was wash your face and teeth, then you went to prepare the clothes you were going to wear the following day. Yoongi said to wear jeans and a t-shirt, so that's what you prepared.
You pulled out a pair of loose fitting, high waisted jeans, a black leather belt and an oversized Calvin Klein white t-shirt. Yes, Min Yoongi was going to find out he wasn't your bias in BTS, you hoped he found it amusing.
After putting on your pjs, you jumped into bed and got settled. Only then did you pull out your phone, fire up kakao talk and text Yoongi.
Y/N: "As instructed, I am texting you while safely tucked in my bed. Thank you for a wonderful evening, Yoongi-ssi."
MY: "I'm not going to lie, I thought you were driving all the way to Busan for how long it took you to get home. That, or that you forgot about me."
Y/N: "ㄱㄱㄱ!!! Never. I just got ready and prepared everything for tomorrow. I don't want to be late."
Yoongi couldn't help but think how cute it was that you had essentially done the same thing he did. Could you be as excited as he was?
MY: "You could be late and I'd still wait for you. I'd wait an eternity for you. Goodnight Y/N-ssi."
Y/n: "I thought we agreed on no formality?"
MY: "You did it first."
And he was right, you did. You were so used to the formalities by now that it was a habit, but you really wanted him to use your name, just your name.
Y/n: "My bad. Mianheyo, Yoongi. Goodnight."
MY: "Sweet dreams, y/n."
And with that you both went to sleep with silly, dumb grins plastered on your faces.
