Y/N's POV

You took advantage of the twenty minutes you had until your next meeting by going to refill your pitcher, your coffee and to take a pee break. You also ordered your groceries and texted Seojun, asking him to please come upstairs.

It took less than five minutes for your doorbell to ring and for Seojun to be standing outside, back straight as a rod.

“Seojun-ssi,” you bowed, “it's nice to see you again. Please, come in.”

The poor man was confused but did as he was told.

“What can I help you with, miss Y/N?”

“You can help me by coming inside, sitting down in the living room and hanging out here while I work and the groceries come. I don't want you downstairs, standing there with nothing to do.”

“Miss Y/N,” he sighed, clearly frustrated, “that's my job. I'm supposed to be downstairs and keep any unwanted visitors away. I can't do that if I'm here. This is what I do for a living.”

“I understand that, but I've been paranoid long enough to know that it's better if you're here. What if someone gets in with someone else's code? Anyone could come crashing down my door, hu?” You saw a shiver run down his spine and his eyes go wide. He definitely hadn't taken that into consideration. “My building is safe, Seojun-ssi. I wouldn't be so calm if it wasn't. I know my recent breakdown might make you think otherwise, but-”

“You had every reason to break down, Miss Y/N.” He interrupted.

“I know. But I also know I'm safe now. Hans is nowhere near me thanks to you all. So please, just humor me, hang out for a bit, have lunch with me and then you can go back to your routine.”

“This is not normal, miss Y/N. It's not professional.”

“You're my friend. We can have lunch if we want to. I know…I know how good you are and how professional you are. I won't impose on anything, but this is my small way of thanking you for everything.” He was about to interrupt again but you stopped him.  “I know you don't think there's anything to be grateful for, but there is and I am. Okay?”

He nodded and his resolve crumbled, “Just this once?”

You laughed. “Just this once…this week.”

He smiled. “Alright. I know you're busy, Yoongi-ya told me. I'll sit here and wait for the groceries. May I help with anything else?”

“Just maybe preheat the air fryer when the groceries come? Lunch will be quick.”

You watched him awkwardly sit on the couch before you went back into your room to join the next meeting. It was a short one and it went by like a breeze. During the time you were busy, the doorbell rang and Seojun got it. It was the grocery delivery. You also heard movement in the kitchen and knew it was him preheating the air fryer, like you asked him to.

As soon as the meeting ended you went back out, to find Seojun standing beside the couch. You sighed. He took his work extremely to the core.

“Meetings are over for the day. Only reports after lunch. I don't have that much time though, there are big reports to work on and I know you have to get back to the guys.”

“I'm clear for the day. I'm with you until nightfall and I'm at your service for whatever you might need.”

“Great! So I can make you dinner as well!” You wiggled your eyebrows and that got a smile out of him.

“I'm going to cheat with lunch. I didn't have any meat so I couldn't prepare it beforehand, so I got a rotisserie chicken to help make things quick. I hope you don't mind?”
