When Yoongi stormed into the floor where Si Hyuk's office was located, the poor receptionist didn't know what to do, she couldn't even try to stop him before he went into his office without even knocking.
“Hyung, I need to talk to you, it's important.”
Yoongi said as he entered the office and headed straight towards the desk.
Si Hyuk looked up from his computer and looked at Yoongi from over his glasses. He could tell that he was upset and that was why he didn't even think about scolding him for barging into his office. The man gestured to Yoongi to sit down on the couch and he stood, grabbed his coffee and sat in front of him.
Yoongi sat, his knees going up and down and his hands in fists. The words Namjoon had spat at him bounced around in his head and ate him alive. He couldn't believe him. Someone who had been his brother all those years…he never expected him to act like that, no matter how much they had distanced.
“What's going on?”
“Hyung,” Yoongi began, his nerves suddenly kicked in and he began sweating and his hands to shake, “I'm here to inform you about something and I want to tell you that I'm prepared to face whatever consequence might come from it. But I won't go back on my decision nor will I take any instruction telling me to stop.”
Si Hyuk raised his eyebrows, calm as ever and sat back, listening. “Go ahead.”
“I have a girlfriend. Since Saturday. She's not in the industry and she's not famous. She's not Korean either and she's older than me. I understand my responsibilities to the group and to this company and that won't change, but I also won't leave her.”
It all came out in one breath and while Si Hyuk was surprised, he couldn't say he hadn't been expecting something like that to happen. Ever since the guys had renegotiated their contracts and had the no dating clause removed, he knew it was only a matter of time until one of them invoked it.
They all had dated before but the public hadn't been aware of it, that was a rule. Yoongi in particular had dated Adora and that had crashed and burned.
“I want you to remember that under the new contracts, this is allowed.”
The boss put a hand up to stop Yoongi. “I am aware of that, Yoongi-ya. Have you told anyone else? Has she? What's her name?”
Yoongi felt a little bit more at ease, but not entirely.
“Her name is Y/LN, Y/N. She works for Alistair Holdings a few buildings down, she's latin American but is an American citizen. She's older than me. I've only told the guys, just now, and you. I believe she may have told her best friend in the States and her personal assistant here, who's also her best friend in Korea.”
Yoongi saw Bang tilt his head at the mention of some of the bits he told him about Y/N, but didn't think much of it.
“Women tend to gossip though, can we trust the best friend and assistant?”
“I doubt her best friend will say anything and her assistant is male,” Yoongi said uncomfortably at which Si Hyuk raised an eyebrow. “I know, I don't like it either, but she trusts him and he keeps her safe. He acts like her big brother, it's a bit comforting knowing she has someone to look after her here, she's alone.”
Si Hyuk was being too quiet and pensive, it was eerie. He drank some more coffee while he seemed to be thinking about his next question.
“What did the guys say?”
Yoongi winced. He feared that this would be the breaking point, that when he told him that Namjoon was…against their relationship, Si Hyuk would be too. No matter what Yoongi had screamed at Namjoon, the truth of the matter was that he was still their leader and he owned shares in Hybe, if he was determined to stop it, he could.
“Everyone but Namjoon agreed and were happy for me.” He said, simple and direct.
“I see. And why exactly did he not agree?”
This was uncomfortable, it felt like a bad therapy session and an interrogation at the same time, Yoongi couldn’t take it anymore. He had come into the office with all the strength and confidence in the world, fueled by rage, but now he felt like he had lost power.
Just as he was about to reply, the door to the office banged open again, this time he got the chance to see Si Hyuk jump on his seat, and in came Jin, Hobi, Jimin and Tae, it was weird not to see Jungkook but he knew there must be a logical explanation for that.
“He didn't agree because he was being an idiot and a bit of a bitch about it,” said Jin, ever so casually as he came to sit beside Yoongi, the other three standing behind the couch, “Jungkookie wanted to come, but someone had to stay behind and make sure Monah is in good shape to record when we finish here.”
“Seokjin…what's the meaning of all this? It seems like there are problems already?”
“Not at all,” continued Jin, sitting back and crossing one leg over the other. “Namjoon will come around. He already told us he was sorry.” Yoongi's eyes shot to Jin, but he couldn't see anything other than determination and he didn't look at him, he was staring at Si-Hyuk. “We're here to tell you that we support Yoongi's decision and to remind you of the clause on the new contract.”
“Yes, Seokjin, I'm aware of it. Alright, this represents a bit of a complication given the timing, but me more than anyone wants you all to be happy. So, I will have legal draft the NDAs for her and her friends and we'll discuss them in a few weeks, in the meantime–”
“No.” Interjected Yoongi, “no NDAs. At least not for her. I don't want my relationship to be controlled by shit like this.”
“Yoongi…it's for your own safety and hers too. You don't know how difficult things can be.”
“No. I don't want-”
“Hyung, maybe you should listen to Si Hyuk hyung, it could protect you both.” Said Hobi, ever the voice of reason. “Why don't you talk to y/n about it? She doesn't have to sign it tomorrow.” Continued Jimin.
“Yoongi-ya…Talk it over with Y/N, she told you she was willing to sign it, she wants to be with you and is willing to do whatever is needed. Just ask her.” Jin was serious. He was always looking out for his younger brothers, it made something stir inside Yoongi. He knew Jin was supportive of him and y/n and so, if he thought this was good, then it was.
“Alright, I'll ask her. But I will go over it first and then I'll show it to her. She's not an idiot nor is she crazy. And she will sign it when and if she wants to, okay? And that won't affect whether or not we can stay in a relationship. I'm not budging.”
“Those are perfectly acceptable terms, Yoongi,” Bang said, all the time studying him. He hadn't looked that determined in years. “What matters most Yoongi…Are you happy?”
Everyone, including Yoongi, turned to look at Si Hyuk, surprised. It was such a personal thing and they were not used to it. Everyone except Jin. His eyes were trained on Yoongi.
“Yes, hyung. I am happy. I didn't think I could feel this happy so fast, but I am. I promise this won't interfere with my work.”
Bang PD smiled widely, honestly happy - albeit worried - for Yoongi. The boys had worked so hard for so many years that they all deserved happiness, in whatever form that may come and if he could make it easier for him, he was going to.
“Then that's settled. I'd like to meet her when you feel like it, it'd be my honor. And guys,” Yoongi smiled and so did the rest of them, “next time, at least knock, alright?”
They all laughed, stood and bowed as they left.
“Jin?”
“Yes, sunbae?”
“Please ask Namjoon to come see me after the session. Tell him only after he's finished with his part.”
Jin bowed, “Yes, hyung.”
