Sunday Morning

You woke up at around nine which was extremely rare for you. Even when you no longer suffered from bad insomnia, you still had trouble sleeping and sleeping in wasn't a luxury your brain allowed you to have.

Your entire body felt as if it was made of lead, heavy and dense. When you went to stretch there was a slight discomfort between your legs but it wasn't unpleasant and it served as a reminder of what had happened the previous night.

Giggling, you took a deep breath and stood up, ready to start your day. Walking to the kitchen to start the kettle and your entire coffee ritual you realized that you hadn't stopped smiling since waking up. The Min Yoongi effect.

You wondered…?

"Alexa, play 'Until I fall away', by the Gin Blossoms"

It was a dangerous choice, it was the song that had haunted you for so long, one that had been a personal favorite for you and that, thanks to the asshole, had become the soundtrack to the worst day of your life. You had to face it, claim it back.

When the first two guitar chords played, you had to support yourself by grabbing the kitchen counter. You focused on breathing and on the sound of the kettle and began dissecting the song.

The voice was still as sweet and as longing as you remembered. The overall feeling of the song was one of sadness, but it had a hint of hope in it, one that you hadn't heard before. It was four minutes long and somehow it felt longer to you, but by the time the bridge hit, you had begun rocking your head to it.

No chills, no rush of dread or fear to your head. It still felt foreign, but it no longer felt like a stab to the heart. You had no idea why you thought of the song just then, but it proved that you were healing, that whatever it was that Yoongi was doing to you in such a short time, was good and worth fighting for.

And for the first time in three years, as the song died down, you decided that you were capable of feeling romantic love again and that you would work on it, because you wanted to experience it with Yoongi.

You drank your coffee and headed for the shower, quickly texting Yoongi.

Y/N: Good morning, Yoongi. I hope your day runs smoothly. I woke up late and so, I'm about to jump in the shower.

Not even a minute later.

Yoongi: Good morning, beautiful. Don't paint me that picture, it's cruel. I take it that you slept well? I did too. I'm just about to head down to my car. Is Huang-ssi driving you today?

You blushed but played along.

Y/N: It's just to keep you interested. Please be careful out there. No, Huang-ssi doesn't work on weekends, I'm taking the subway, if it rains, I'll take a cab.

Yoongi: Could you please text me when you arrive at your destination and when you get back? Actually, please text me whenever you want or feel like it. I'm not trying to control you, it's just that Korea might be safe, but there's still a lot of psychos out there.

Y/N: Gwenchana. I know my way around and I won't be out after dark. Have fun.

Yoongi: You too.

This was going to be a good day.

After your shower you dressed comfortably. Black tee, jeans and sneakers. You favorite crossbody bag (yes, it was the Agust D tour one), sunglasses and you were off. There was a slight skip on your step, if anyone saw you and paid enough attention, they'd be able to tell you were happy.

The subway station was a few blocks down from your building and the best part of it all was that you weren't really going to leave the underground. You were heading to Gangnam station, the underground shops there had everything you needed, they even had a great spot for buying snacks.
