Y/N's POV

“Jeonbri-ssi, it's already three forty five in the afternoon and no matter how you spin things around, there is no way that what happened after our initial screw up can be blamed on us. Look at the data, look at the facts but most importantly, look at your own company's reports. It all falls down to the wrong incoterms being used.”

Both Huang and Kang knew you were exasperated but were keeping your composure, but what they didn't know was that if this last thing didn't work, you'd pull the ace up your sleeve.

“Miss Y/LN, they are not wrong. They're the ones that have always been used. You failed to provide the correct information in the cargo manifesto.” Park smiled condescendingly and that made you click.

Huang saw it. Saw the change in your demeanor and so, he sat back on his chair, an evil smirk on his face. Kang looked between the both of you, honestly lost at what was happening. Huang gave him a small hand gesture, telling him to wait and see.

“As per our contract,” you said as you slapped said document on the desk and slid it towards Mr. Park, “We provide the information, which is then corroborated by you people before acceptance and if something doesn't add up, you reject the cargo until the mistakes have been fixed. You didn't do it, with either of the three containers.”

Park’s face went pale.

“Oh yes, you thought we forgot about that part. Not only that, but the incoterms were updated last year, which means that we have been overpaying for the wrong thing.” The entire team was pale now and going over and over the same paragraph in the contract, trying to find a flaw. They wouldn't. You had drafted that contract together with legal. There wasn't any flaw.

“While we are indeed responsible for the penalty fee for not complying with the correct descriptions in the manifesto, you are in breach of contract for not performing the very things we are paying you for and for costing extra money on taxes. So here's what we're going to do: we will only pay for half the penalty fee and you will fix this mess on your part. Provide us with a detailed report of what we have paid in excess and then we will discuss whether we want to stay in business with your company or not.”

Kang's jaw was on the floor and Huang wanted to start a slow clap. He absolutely loved it when you demonstrated why you were a force to be reckoned with.

“Miss Y/LN, I don't think that will be necessary. We've had such a good business relationship over the years that one mistake, that can be fixed, can't ruin it.” He was shaking in his boots.

“A mistake you refused to accept and which has caused us losses. I was willing to let it go if you owned up to it in the first place, but you were determined to pin it all on us. We have acknowledged what we did wrong and we are paying the fee, but we don't appreciate the lack of professionalism on your part. Kang-ssi will stay here until Friday while we cover our part and to give you enough time to fix what needs fixing. Those containers better be on their way by Friday noon.”

“They will be, Miss Y/LN.” The entire team stood up and bowed. You did the same and shook their hands.

“I'm glad we could fix this. We'll be in touch, Mr. Park.” You turned on your heel, quickly followed by Huang and Kang.

Once outside, Huang let out a laugh.

“As always, watching you work is amazing, Y/N-ssi. I'll go get the car and we can go get something to eat. Be right back.” He bowed to Kang, “I'll see you back in Seoul, Kang-ssi.” He turned and went to get the car.

“YN-ssi, I couldn't have been more wrong about you and I feel like an even bigger asshole than I did this morning.” He bowed, “I will never question your capacity and abilities again. You are the smartest woman I have ever known. I hope that we can still work together?”
