Y/N's POV
Your phone pinged with a notification that you knew was from Weverse, and while you wanted nothing more than to pick it up and read it, you were far too immersed in the report you were working on.
It was no secret to anyone who knew you that you loved your job and you really thrived in it, but that after what happened with Hans in the past, you had used it as an escape valve. Your therapist had tried to work on it with you, but in the end, you both realized that it did you more good than harm and you had found a balance that made it work.
Right then, the hyper focusing wasn't about you though, it was about Yoongi and the guys being in a potentially dangerous situation and you being unable to do anything. So you were doing things you could control, things you could predict the outcome of. As long as you remained focused, your anxiety wouldn't attack you.
You decided to wait until you finished your report to read the news, if anything bad had happened, Yoongi would've called you, so you knew it could wait.
It wasn't until your phone rang that you took your eyes away from the computer screen. It was Huang, so that meant no news from Yoongi.
“Hey.” You said by way of greeting. “What's up?”
“Hey? Okay, it seems like I'm interrupting, but I wanted to know if you've checked the statement Hybe put out and how you were doing.” Huang was the best.
“I haven't had the chance, hold on,” pulling your phone away from your ear, you put it on speaker while you clicked on your notifications.
Your eyes roamed quickly through the notice and you sighed. “Right… got it.”
“Are you thinking what I'm thinking?”
“That this is hinting at how they'll act if I get hate when we go public?” You asked, knowing that was it.
“Not just hate, if someone dares attack you in any way. What happened today proves that fans are no longer afraid of getting physical.”
A shiver ran down your spine. You hadn't thought about that. Yes, you knew that Yoongi and the guys had been in physical danger and you were aware and understood that you were going to have security, but until that very moment, the fact that someone would want to physically harm you hadn't sunk in.
“I know,” you didn't though. Not really. “I don't think it will happen. Even the stalkers that have been harassing Tae and Kookie haven't gotten close enough. What happened today…they seemed to have relied on the power of people in numbers. Had it been only a handful of girls, I don't think they would've risked it.” It sounded better in your head. “At least that's how I feel.”
Huang sighed on the other end of the line. “Y/N…This is serious.” If he was willing to break the societal rules and call you by your name alone (which you had been begging for, but he refused to), that meant that he was honestly conflicted and wanted to get his point across. “I know you try to see the good in everything and I admire you for that. You've become so strong and resilient after everything you've been through and that's an amazing thing, but in this particular case, I think it would be wise to be a little wary and on guard.”
“The saesangs are not right in the head.” He deadpanned.
“Don't be mean”
“I'm not. They can't be all sane if they stalk people like this. And you're going to be their target soon. I don't want you to get hurt.”
Huang had a point and you knew it. He was one of the smartest men you knew and you had always wondered why he was part of the assistants team and not part of logistics altogether. You learned that not being restricted to a particular schedule allowed him to move things around and be able to take care of his grandma. He was sacrificing his career out of love for the woman who raised him and he didn't mind one bit.
