Yoongi's POV
The apartment fell into an uncomfortable silence the moment the door closed behind you and Yoongi just stood there, looking at it, fighting every instinct he had to go after you, to hold you and to never let you go.
Out of all the scenarios he had imagined, this was never one of those. He had thought about the possibility of you coming home early and while he didn't expect his mother to react warmly to it, he hadn't anticipated such blatant hostility. In his mind she was too polite to do something like what she did to you and he couldn't comprehend what the hell was going on. There was no way she could hate someone she didn't know that much without any reason.
He thought she had softened up a bit after he told them what had happened to you, even his dad had relented and had been a gentleman towards you.
“Yoongi-ya? Gwenchana?” It was his brother who addressed him first. “You're shaking.”
And he was. There were too many emotions traveling through his veins right then.
“Gwenchana. If any of you has anything more to say, please do so, if not, I'm going to go clear the table and clean the kitchen. Eomma, appa, you know where the guest room is.” He was about to take a step when his dad stopped him.
“We heard everything. You didn't close the door behind you.”
“What exactly did you hear?”
“You begging Y/N-ssi not to leave you and her saying she wouldn't and…being extremely considerate and polite towards your mother. Stepping aside for her not to be uncomfortable and trying not to put you in a tight spot.” Yoongi shifted on his spot, feeling uncomfortable at them all having heard how you were so selfless and him being like a petulant child. “Why are you so afraid that she's gonna leave you?”
“Because…because even after everything that she has gone through, she keeps telling me that she will step aside. That if her being with me hurts me, the guys or my relationship with my family, that she will step aside. She loves me enough to put her own happiness away for me. But you guys wouldn't understand it.”
“Yoongi-ya…”
“No. I thank you for having been polite to her, dad and you too, hyung. She was scared and hurt. She never told me that after running away in fear last Friday, her feet got covered in blisters that today bled from her walking around. She didn't tell me because she didn't want me to worry.”
He was trying hard to keep his composure.
“That woman has done so much more for me than I could ever do for her. She makes me feel alive. She makes me happy. I would give up my career and my fame for her. All I want is her.”
His family was silent.
“Now, hyung, I truly and honestly don't want to be rude, but I just got a splitting headache and I have to work in the morning. Would it be too much to ask that you please leave so that mom and dad can go to bed?”
“Not at all.” His sister in law was quick to answer, “but before we leave, please let me help you clean up.”
“Not necessary, eonni, thank you though.” He gave her a small smile.
“Araso. Jagi…let's go.” She pulled on Geum Jae's sleeve and he moved. He went to get their coats in a flash, everyone still standing in the living room. Upon returning he helped his wife put hers on and then he went to kiss his mom and hug his dad goodbye.
He hugged Yoongi and loudly said, “we're with you. If Y/N is who you love, we both support you. We would love to get to know her better and have you over for a meal some time soon.”
