Middle Name (Quicketh+)

"Noah." Quinn muttered. "He needs a name."

"We'll pick a name when we see him." Puck promised.

"Then let's talk about his middle name." Quinn decided. "I wanna make his middle name Noah."

Puck shook his head. "I don't want our son to be named after me."

"Why not?" Quinn wondered.

"Because I want him to be his own person, and become his own man." Puck explained. "That's hard to do when half of his name is Noah Puckerman."

"Two-thirds." Quinn corrected Puck.

"Whatever." Puck said. "I don't want that."

"Fine." Quinn nodded. "Then how about James? He can share a middle name with you."

"And be named after my dad?" Puck raised his eyebrow. "Absolutely not."

Quinn looked at Puck.

"It's bad enough we all share a last name with that asshole." Puck pointed out.

"You've redeemed the last name, don't you think?" Quinn asked. "Besides, I wouldn't have taken it if it were so tainted."

Puck nodded. "Well, middle names are supposed to be, like, the name they almost got, or a name that honors someone else."

"God knows where my parents got Quinn from, but thankfully it was there." Quinn added.

"See?" Puck responded. "What if he wants to go by his middle name? I don't want there to be two Noahs or worse, two Jameses."

"Point taken." Quinn said. "We won't name him after you. Well, other than being a Puckerman."

Puck smiled.

"Don't you think it'd be easier to pick his first name first?" Quinn questioned Puck. "Then we can find something that goes with it."

"I think we should make his middle name William." Puck blurted. "For Mr. Schue."

Quinn looked at Puck.

"I've actually been thinking about that for a while." Puck confessed. "But since I named Beth, I didn't wanna take over."

"William." Quinn repeated with a smile. "I think that's a really sweet tribute."

"Yeah?" Puck smiled back.

"Mr. Schue has been a father figure to us for years." Quinn reminded Puck. "More than either of our dads ever were."

Puck nodded in agreement.

"Let's do it." Quinn decided. "Let's make his middle name William."

Puck smiled happily as he kissed Quinn's cheek. "Now he just needs a first name."

"We still have time."
