The royal birthday feast suddenly turned into chaos. All the assassin were killed by the royal guards. Their corpse were burnt in the cell and the security of the palace increased 3 folds. After the chaotic night the morning court session was gloomy. Those ministers present in the hall felt the atmosphere today dropped down to the extreme point.
General Kamini forced his courage to break the silence, "Samrat, all the attackers were killed but there's something which seemed weird".It was a shame that after working all these years in the millitary field and achieving good grades, few assassins were able to attack under his nose.
Manik who was sitting on the throne frowned at him, "oh then let's hear from you general"
Kamini gulped down hardly. All the ministers stared at him. "Samrat one of them is missing. It was reported there were 15 assassin who attacked yesterday yet we only had 14 corpse. I guess the missing one was their leader. He is not dead for sure yet there's no traces of him being alive too"
"How can he escape the security?" Manik angrily shouted. "If a mere assassin can come and go as their will then why do I need you here? You can't even catch an assassin, how are you going to protect the whole country?"
Prime minister Birbhrat immediately got up from his seat and said in pleasing tone, "Samrat, please calm down. Yesterday the feast was crowded, may be that assassin disguised himself as a commoner and disappeared in the excited crowd. General Kamini has been serving the country wholeheartedly, Samrat himself praised him many times"
Seeing him pleading, all other members also joined the plead. Only then Manik's expression eased a little. Seeing Samrat's expression improved the court heaved a sigh of relief.
"General since the attack was happened once, it could happen again. I don't want my enemies to think Gangghor is easy to get" Manik said in his usual cold tone.
General Kamini bowed deeply before replying, "Samrat please be assured, this kind of thing wouldn't happen again. I will personally take care of everything"
"Search for the leader, I want him alive" Manik placed the order before dismissing the court.
After the court he went to his room took bath. As he was changing his cloths Pallav informed him about Kashmira who came to seek audience with him. He called her in the meeting room of his private chamber.
"Buashree" Manik called out when he saw Kashmira walking in. Her face was pale yet she still maintained her weak smile.
"Manik" Kashmira smiled, "whatever happened yesterday frightened me so much. I wanted to come yesterday but I heard you were busy then I know you will be discussing about the matter in the court so I had to wait for you to free yourself"
Manik nodded and hold her hand gently. He showed a gentle and assuring smile, "don't worry Buashree, I am fine. Those minor attack couldn't harm me. There's nothing serious"
Kashmira sighed. "Hearing you were attacked those wives in the ShtriMahal urged to meet you. They are causing more troubles when they were told they couldn't disturb you at the moment. Manik I don't want to pressure you with such matter but the situation of the inner palace is going out of control. All of them were trying to supress the rules and get everything in their hands. Even if I have the power to hold them back but I don't know how long I can do that. The inner palace needs a Samragyi to control them"
This time Manik didn't avoid the matter yet smiled at her, "what kind of woman do you think suitable for this Buashree?"
"A kind-hearted woman could never control those women in the ShtriMahal. They are the noble daughters of the high ranked ministers. More or less they were taught some techniques and schemes by their mothers. Those wives of the ministers are also scheming" Kashmira frowned before looking at Manik, "you need someone who you can trust and also who would never betray you. Manik I know it's not easy to find someone like this but I believe there would be someone for you. You just have to hold onto her if you think she is capable"
