The room suddenly fell in deep silence. The sound of footsteps echoed around before turning person finally stepped inside the room. The heavy air splashed on him as he looked at the scene. The two woman standing there in the middle while looking at him on the other hand the another woman sat on chair calmly without showcasing any particular expression on her face. She didn't even turn to look at his arrival but there was another set of chair placed beside her which indicated that she knew he would come. He walked inside without looking at the Kunwaries and sat on the chair. The air thickened more.
Nandini looked at the two woman again, "Are you two still going to deny?"
Maya and Sambhara was really anxious this time. They could have plead but the fact Samrat was there and been watching everything it made them shameful. What kind of impression Samrat would have after the accusation? It was already hard for them to gain his attention and now he would definitely despise them. This is something they don't want to happen.
Maya finally softened her tone more. With her teary eyes she looked at Nandini looking more pitiful, "Samragyi, I have dedicated to my duty. No matter what I would never do anything that will cause harm in the royal family. Of course I am living here too. I might be careless in times and even failed to notice any suspicious behaviour but I am not involved in this poisoning matter. I am innocent" while explaining herself she fell on the floor bursting into tears.
Nandini frowned, "I hate to see crying dramas" she waved her hand and Medha immediately went to Maya and hold her arm before pulling her up harshly. The process was fast and startled Maya extremely. The strength used on her was quite forceful.
"Shut your mouth. Samragyi don't like such unnecessary action to display. Just stand still and answer her questions" Medha hissed. There's no warmth or gentleness in her tone rather it felt more harsh and demanding.
Seeing how Maya being treated Sambhara stood still. She didn't even cry or try to act pitiful like Maya. Her expression was resolute and forcefully calmed. She never thought that the sevika of Samragyi will be this aggressive.
Nandini noticed her expression and raised an eyebrow, "Kunwari Sambhara, what about you? Won't you try to point out your view too?"
Sambhara gulped down. In her mind she was screaming to be released from such investigation. It was good that she didn't do anything. She stopped herself even before the plan started. She didn't behave like Maya and calmly replied.
"Requesting Samragyi to kindly investigate this matter again. Even though my name is involved but I can assure you that I haven't done anything wrong. I am innocent at this point. If I was proved wrong then I will accept any punishment" Sambhara regained her posture. She tried to look calm and collected but inside she was failing because her legs were slightly shaking and she couldn't control herself.
"Kunwari Sambhara, the poison is found in your place yet you are denying it? You even want me to go through the investigation and waste my time?" Nandini have an indifferent look on her face, "you both were assigned for such a huge responsibility. I thought both of you could live up the name of Kunwaries but I was wrong, it was a mistake for you two to take the responsibility. Now I see you both were too desperate and even wanted to harm me in return. Trusting the Kunwaries was the biggest mistake I ever did as a Samragyi"
Both Maya and Sambhara looked at her. Sambhara who had gained her quiet posture suddenly felt losing it again. What does she meant by that?
Manik who was listening silently revealed a slight smirk on his face. The expression was so subtle that it rarely noticed by others. Nandini on the other hand was dead set to pick on the two kunwaries infront of her. She was clearly aware of the truth they are innocent in the poison matter but they aren't all innocent with their heart. She has always ignored it but this time she refused to acknowledge anything. She has been poisoned for nothing and she wouldn't let ShtriMahal rest in peace for a moment. Looking at the two kunwaries Nandini smirked.
