"Malika?" Nandini frowned as she looked at the woman who was sitting on the wet ground curling herself like a ball. Her cloths were wet and she looked like drenching in the rain for quite a long time. The woman looked up trembling. Her eyes were full of fear and filled with anxiety.
"Yo....you?" She said through shaking voice.
Nandini walked towards her, "what are you doing here alone? Where's your maids?"
"I don't know" Parisa replied. Her body was trembling as she tightened her arms around her body.
"Come with us Malika, if you stay here for few more minutes, you will freeze yourself. The weather is cold because of the rain and your wet body won't help at all" Nandini said and reached out pulling Parisa up.
"Let's leave" Nandini said and they left along with Parisa. Parisa was shaking while walking. Luckily Nandini was holding her arm or she would have fallen on the ground already. When they reached the carriage Parisa was given warm cloths to change then served a hot tea.
"How are you feeling now?" Nandini asked looking at her. They were sitting inside the carriage while Parisa was sipping tea.
"I am fine" Parisa replied. Her face was pale but there was a tiny red stain on her cheeks. She remembered how she treated Nandini before and now that hateful woman become her rescuer.
"What are you doing here in the forest in rain? Where's your husband?" Nandini couldn't help but ask in confusion. The last thing she expected to see in the forest was her.
"We were under attack while returning. I don't know how it happened but the attack was so sudden and we weren't prepared for it. The fight was too severe then to save our lives me and my maids ran away from there. My husband told me to find a safe spot to hide. He would come to find me after everything settles" Suddenly Parisa's voice broken and a sob escaped her lips, "I don't even know if he is still alive. Our enemies has surrounded him when he pushed me to run. If he couldn't make it...then...I .." at the end she couldn't hold back and cried out. Her cheeks showered with tears.
Nandini sighed inwardly. The situation was kind of serious. She handed handkerchief to Parisa to wipe the tears. Seeing the woman who always showed proud face now crying her heart out infront of her.
"What about your maids? Why are you alone?"
Parisa wiped her face, "we ran from the attack but lost track of the way then there's also sudden rain. Besides few of the attackers also chasing after us.My maids has distracted their attention while I could only run for my life. Later I ended up in the forest. I don't know where they went or if they were alive or not in the process"
Nandini nodded, "you should rest for a while. About finding your husband, I will discuss it with my husband first then see what kind of decision we can take"
Parisa looked at her, "are you married?" She was kind of surprised.
Nandini smiled, "why? You don't believe it?"
Parisa was about to say something when there was a knock on the door.
"What is it?" Nandini asked.
"Prizzi, Samrat is asking for you" there come Purna's voice.
Nandini nodded, "I will talk to my husband about you. Please excuse me" she said to Parisa and opened the door. Purna was still standing outside the carriage waiting for her. She helped Nandini get down from the carriage.
"Stay with Malika, see if she needs anything" Nandini said before leaving. Purna get inside the carriage and smiled at Parisa.
"Malika if you need anything please let me know"
