Basically Nick and Charlie being really cute after Nick returns from a school camp
Notes:Hello! Thank you for reading :) I was trying to do my psych work (that is overdue), even though it's midnight but I could not get these two out of my head. Anyway, this is probably the fluffiest, most sappiest fic you will read all day, so enjoy!

"Char! I'm home!" Nick announced as he walked through the front door of their home. He could hear the clicking paws of Daisy, their new puppy, scattering toward him, pouncing as she reached him, begging for pats. As exhausting as spending five days on a school camp with eight-year-olds was, playing with Daisy brought out a new energy reserved only for dogs. While scratching her belly, Nick heard a soft chuckle come from in front of him. He looked up to see his husband leaning on the door frame, taking in the sight of the most beautiful man he had ever seen. Even after 10 years with Charlie, Nick never ceased to be amazed by him."Hi," Charlie greeted, a wide grin on his face, eyes sparkling with the joy of finally having Nick home.
"Hi," Nick echoed back. He stood and moved toward Charlie, enveloping him in a signature "Nelson Hug." Neither of the men moved for a good few minutes until Daisy, clearly feeling left out, started whining. Nick and Charlie looked at each other, seemingly reading each other's minds, and headed to the couch in the living room.
After half an hour more of just cuddling on the couch (Daisy included this time), Charlie spoke up.
"How was the trip? Any more teeth lost after Wednesday?"
"Nope! I'm kinda glad I didn't have to explain to another kid that the tooth fairy doesn't come on school trips." Nick chuckled. "I'm pretty sure Jazzie lost her tooth anyway—Tara was trying to help her find it all morning." He laughed, remembering the frantic search through the girls' dorm beds Tara had described to him earlier that day.
Charlie laughed too, and Nick glanced at him. That's when Nick noticed the pile of mail behind Charlie on their coffee table, including a light blue envelope with his handwriting on it.
"You got my letter!" Nick exclaimed, reaching for it. So what if Nick sends his husband postcards on a trip two towns over? Sue him—he's a romantic.
"Oh yeah, I hadn't gotten the chance to read it yet," Charlie admitted.
"Can you read it now? Pleaassee?" Nick begged. "I want to see your reaction." He remembered what he had written about the first gift he had ever given Charlie, just before those secret kisses in an arcade in front of a claw machine.
"Okay, okay," Charlie said with fake annoyance. He opened the envelope carefully, making sure not to tear the paper, and pulled out the postcard. The front displayed the famous cliffs of the area, with a natural heart-shaped gap between them and a lush green forest at the base. Charlie took a moment to admire the photo. "Wow, this is beautiful, Nick."
"You haven't even read what I've written yet, Char."
"Hang on, hang on, I'm getting there," Charlie said as he turned the card over. He scanned the message before looking up at Nick, tears welling in his eyes. "I love you. I love you so much," Charlie whispered, his voice catching as the tears threatened to spill. He pulled Nick into another tight hug.
"I love you too, Char."

Charlie, my love,
I have missed you so much these last two days, and I can't wait to be back in your arms again, with Daisy beside us and our whole lives in front of us.
This trip has made me wonder—how did I ever survive being away from you for so long? I once again understand the yearning Uni Nick had for you when I was in Leeds and you were still at Truham, and then in London.
While I can't be with you right now—because, honestly, 30 kids always seem to need something—I want you to know that I have been thinking about you the entire time I've been gone. On the bus, in my dreams, and especially when I was telling the kids the story of the cliffs on the front of this card. Did you know that some stories say these cliffs were once two lovers, destined to show their love for each other forever?
I like to think that's us, Char. Always.
Love,
Nick ❤
