Summary:

"Charlie couldn't wait to see his warm brown eyes, endless freckles and the most adorable smile in the entire world. And those strong arms.

God, those arms.

Nick, a regular customer for more than a month, always showed up around the same time. Which, funny enough, was always during Charlie's morning shifts, so he was the one serving Nick every time.

Coincidence? Charlie hoped not."

Or,

A coffee shop AU where Charlie is gay panicking, Nick is smitten and Tao is an impatient, supportive straight friend who decides to take matters into his own hands.

Notes:

Welcome to my new prompt - it's been a while.. A week ago I saw a plot bunny posted by PerfectGraveyard and I instantly thought of Charlie and Tao working in a coffee shop together. I added the picture at the end so you can check it out. I hope it makes sense and you like it!

Thank you my dearest kay_lalala and Pocketfamily for your help and suggestions. You're both amazing and I'm forever grateful to have you in my life.

Work Text:
"Enjoy," Charlie said and put a caramel latte macchiato on the counter.

"Thanks," A young dark-haired woman smiled at him and picked up her order.

The cafe where he worked part-time (usually sharing shifts with his long-term friend Tao) was quite peaceful now. He looked at the time: 11:55. It meant only one thing: Nick, his favourite customer (and the most gorgeous man who ever lived, but that was irrelevant) should be here very soon.

"I'll take my break now," Tao suddenly said, taking off his apron and quickly walking outside.

"Okay," Charlie said without even looking at him. It was unusual for Tao to take his break so early, but Charlie didn't give it much thought, focusing his attention on Nick, who (he hoped) was about to walk in any minute now. Charlie couldn't wait to see his warm brown eyes, endless freckles and the most adorable smile in the entire world. And those strong arms.

God, those arms.

Nick, a regular customer for more than a month, always showed up around the same time. Which, funny enough, was always during Charlie's morning shifts, so he was the one serving Nick every time.

Coincidence? Charlie hoped not.

Tao teased him about it at the beginning, but it looked like he had run of patience last week.

"My god, Charlie. How much longer will it take? No one spends that much money on overpriced tea without any reason, believe me. He's clearly into you, just ask him out already!" he cried.

And Charlie believed him, he really did. He wasn't blind and Nick... well, let's just say that Nick hasn't the best poker face in the world. He was clearly flustered every time he looked at Charlie, his eyes sparkling and the most endearing, shy smile appearing on his face. But Charlie still didn't dare to make the first move, he was too scared to screw it all up and miss his chance. So he waited for Nick to be the brave one and internally gay-panicking in the meantime.

Charlie heard the shop door bell and there he was. 12:02, right on time. His dream guy stood in front of the counter, handsome as ever, and Charlie forgot how to breathe.

"Hi," His future husband Nick said and smiled softly. He was wearing a tight white t-shirt which left nothing to the imagination, his freckled, muscular arms on full display.
