Summary:
"I still can't believe you managed to bag, Nick Nelson," someone said to Charlene, sighing dreamily. "I bet he's the best kisser, he just looks like gives the best kisses."
Charlie could remember in great detail the moment he saw Ben kissing someone outside the gates at Truham. The utter despair and heart break that washed over him, the anger too, all of it was fresh in his mind and Ben didn't even fucking matter. But that feeling, the ground falling out from under him, like he was untethered, was suddenly over him again. So much so, he couldn't even manage to speak.
"Oh, you're CHARLIE?" Someone else added. "God, Nick never shuts up about you."
Charlene let out a giggle. "I know," she answered, blushing and battering her eyes. "Only Nick's allowed to call me that too. It's our special nickname, just like I only call him Nicky."
(Or someone who is not Charlie thinks they are dating Nick Nelson. They are not.)
Notes:For PerfectGraveyard.
This is for PerfectGraveyard! It's their birthday and they deserve all the fanfics! Charlie had given me a two sentence prompt not too long ago and I finished this off for them in a few days! Technically they did beta this, but I added more afterwards so it's fine. :D Anyways, Charlie, I'm so happy to know you and be friends with you! Thank you for entertaining me for an entire day and for being a fantastic friend. <3Thanks to LisWrites for doing a quick beta on this too. And for coming up with the A+ title.
And also, there is not cheating. At all. Trust me! It's not nearly as dark as it sounds.

By the time the rugby match came to its nail biting, spectacular ending, Charlie's voice was hoarse from all the cheering and screaming he'd been doing. His arms were wrapped around Jade, as they jumped together, giggling as they celebrated."Your boyfriend is fucking amazing," she said, when they parted, red faced and slightly out of breath. The crowd around them, some of Nick's other mates, were starting to make their way off the stands. They were sitting in the "Wives" section, as most people jokingly called it, since it provided a great view of the game and was close to where the boys came out. It was also a badge of honour, everyone knew where the wives sat. you were invited, you were important.
"Don't I know it," Charlie grinned, looking out onto the pitch, immediately finding Nick in the mass of bodies. As if Nick knew Charlie was looking for him, he turned and waved, blowing kisses in Charlie's direction, a few of which he pretended to catch and slap onto his cheek before sending his own right back.
"Nevermind, you're back to being nauseating."
Charlie rolled his eyes. "You're just jealous you're not dating a star rugby player."
Jade sighed dramatically. "Fair, fair. Do you want to wait around for said rugby player, or head to the pub? I'm a bit famished to be honest, all this celebrating."
The match had been an intense one, both teams playing hard. Leeds fell behind at one point, until Nick came barreling in and scoring for them, not once but three times. It was a close call on the last one, if he hadn't scored they would have possibly gone into overtime, or worse, lost. But Nick came in when needed and took his team to victory, even more impressive knowing he was still a fresher and new to the whole thing. Charlie couldn't have been prouder, he hadn't been able to make all of Nick's games over the last few months, so there was still such a new thrill to seeing him out there, getting all the cheers and respect he deserved.
"Yeah, that's fine. It usually takes him forever anyways. I'll just text him that we're heading out."
The team had a post match tradition at a local pub, win or lose. Charlie had joined them more than once, feeling safe and sound going with Jade and a few other of Nick's mates. It was only his fourth trip up since Nick started, but the group was so welcoming and loving, he felt like he'd already become good friends with them. He'd only come up this morning, but he was able to stay for four long days while he was on break from school. Nick still had uni classes, but Charlie didn't mind. have the rest of Saturday night and all of Sunday to spend together. While Nick was in class, Charlie could find something to do, he was sure of it. Jade had already offered to hang with him Monday afternoon and he had a feeling on Tuesday Nick was going to ditch his classes.
