Riven's Truth...

  "Guardian, we have reason to believe the next egg could be in danger. Taken corruption has infected the Confluence." Petra said through the comms as the Titan sped her way towards the HELM.

She had been on Neptune with Nimbus, catching up and patrolling around the surface of the planet and fighting off Vex incursions when Mara had contacted her and told her to get to Riven's Lair immediately.

She knew it was serious the moment Mara didn't actually give her a proper hello...

She had quickly said goodbye to Nimbus only after she made sure he promised her she could try out his hover board before jumping into her ship and heading in the direction of the Portal that would take her into the lair.

Which was where she was currently, sitting in her pilot seat as she listened to a very quick debrief about what was happening.

Her girlfriend decided to take the reins and speak up as soon as Petra was done, "It's being drawn in through a breach between Eleusinia and the Dreaming City. I feel it. This is not a disorganized swarm. It is a concerted attack." She said, voice filled with concern for her home and anger towards the Taken.

"Maybe they've rallied around a field leader. One the Guardian can target to scatter them to the winds." The Queen's Wrath offered, understanding the importance of this mission and the consequences if they failed.

If they lost an egg, Riven wouldn't grant them the wish but even then, if the Taken continued to run rampant they could find their way out of the Confluence and into the parts of the Dreaming City where the citizens lived.

And that, would be really bad.

"Find them, my love, and see it done." Mara said to her girlfriend, causing the Titan to nod her head in determination even if the other women couldn't see it.

"The Taken won't know what hit them darling." The Guardian promised, "Of that, I can assure you."

Five minutes later found the Titan entering Riven's lair with her hand cannon at the ready, sprinting towards the portal chamber off to the left of the room.

"Vermin in my lair," Riven said as she made her way towards the portals, "Their wants echo on the walls. They wish to corrupt my kin! They do not heed my will, or know me. I cannot restrain their hunger." She said, causing Petra to scoff over the comms.

"You never did. I kept them in check." She said, which effectively quieted down the wish dragon for a total of three seconds.

"I can feel your desire Petra Venj, Wrath of the Queen. You walk these sullied halls and see your stagnant years of toil. It is like a game, isn't it? One you simply must continue testing. Why not let me help you? I can free us."

"I'd rather fight another thousand cycles and watch you starve."

"So prickly, Petra. You Awoken never trust my good intentions...Pity."

The Titan shook her head at Petra's back and forth with the dragon before heading into the portal and further into the lair, hoping that if she got this done quickly, those two would stop arguing.

Once she made it into the trapped room, the one with the pressure plates though her comms crackled back to life once more as she fought through the taken forces inside the chamber, "They've blighted the air itself." The Queen's Wrath said, not quite believing it herself.

Riven merely hummed, "Your Queen was correct. Corruption bleeds into this City from her throne. A poisoned reign, built on the edge of envenomed knives." She said before the dragon turned her attention to the guardian clearing out her lair.
