"I can't believe you're actually doing this." Ghost said in exasperation, hovering above his Guardian's shoulder as he gazed at the woman with just a small amount of worry in his optic.
They were both currently standing at the very top of the highest peak in the Dreaming City, atop one of the many vast mountains. She could just make out the actual city in the distance and not far away the palace where her Girlfriend was no doubt just starting to wake up and get ready for her day of Queening.
The Titan herself was standing atop the rocky surface with a simple pair of running shoes on, her sports bra and a dark maroon pair of yoga pants that hugged her frame perfectly.
At least according to Mara.
She had decided to take a jog today, to help work out the built up energy in her body and Mara had informed her last night before heading to sleep about some old trails along the mountains off in the distance and the Young Wolf just couldn't help herself.
She had to try them out herself.
So this morning before her girlfriend had even woke up, she had quickly showered, made the Queen breakfast, left a note to where she was going, incase Mara forgot when she woke up and headed off for the mountain.
Before the sky had brighten and hours before the first Awoken rose from slumber.
She couldn't say she regretted her decision either, she hasn't actually broken a sweat like this for years.
And it was just an added bonus that she felt relaxed after the fact now, her energy spent and that itch to go out and punch something for an adrenaline high was gone for the time being.
She knew it'd be back, it never left her for long especially when she was away from Mara but the pleasant ache in her thighs and the burn in her calves was good from her jog up the mountain.
Because she had ran the entire way up, right up to the very top without stopping once.
She just, needed some sort of action, especially since there wasn't much to do now that the Wish had been made.
The Vanguard had effectively grounded her from doing any operations for the foreseeable future too, instead sending other guardians in to help clear the Confluence as to allow her time to rest and recuperate after months and months of constant fighting.
They said they wanted her to be at her best when she ultimately went through the portal to face the Witness, and tiring herself out before then wasn't helping anyone.
And Mara had agreed with both Zavala and Ikora.
So for the time being, she was benched from going out in the field which put her on edge, her body tensed and so high wound that it wasn't even funny. The only thing that could distract her from it was Mara herself but she couldn't be around her at every waking moment, she was the Queen after all, she had work to do.
So she had decided that she wasn't going to just sit around all day and twiddle her thumbs waiting for her girlfriend, she needed to do something so what better way to keep her skills sharp, yet still remain out of combat than a jog up a mountain.
And it may or may not have taken her a few hours, but it was good to keep her mind off the worry she now felt about Crow too, about what could happen to him until she got through that portal.
The woman shook those thoughts from her head, brushing a stray curl that made its way out of her ponytail behind her ear as she addressed her friend while gazing down the rocky slope that lay before her, "Positive. Plus it'll give me the perfect opportunity to sharpen my Strand and what better way to do that than—"
