Mara walked through the Tower Courtyard, all the while trying to avoid any unwanted contact with rambunctious Guardian's in armor colored in blue, yellow or red as she made her way over towards where she could just make out Zavala and Ikora standing towards the Memorial Tree.

She's never seen the Tower this lively before, even during the other celebrations the City hosts, Guardian's were never this excited.

Warlocks chatting excitedly with one another, all of them showing off their "cool" robes for others to rate on a scale Mara and no idea what was for.

Titan's showcasing their new weapons, ones that would for sure lead them to victory again back to back this year.

Even the Hunter's came out of hiding and decided to grace the tower with their presence, a sea of blue armor telling Mara all she needed to know about how many Hunters had come back.

There was this energy to the Tower that seemed contagious to all, even Mara couldn't help the amusement she felt with some of the New Light's and their comments whispered about her as she walked through the crowd of Guardians.

"That's the Queen of the Reef?!"

"What's she doing here?"

"Don't you know? She's dating the Guardian."

"The Guardian?"

"Yeah, THE Guardian."

"Oh shit."

"Yeah, apparently the Guardian is making an appearance today. Came down to support her fellow Titan's from the sidelines."

"Lucky for us she isn't participating. Lord knows we'd never win then!"

Mara smirked at that last comment, unable to hide the amusement she felt as she listened to the guardians bicker back and forth.

They were about to be sorely disappointed...

Finally, she made it to where the Vanguard was standing off to the side and she was unable to contain her sigh of relief from being out of the crowd as she walked up to rest beside Ikora.

"You alright Mara?" The Warlock asked with a raised eyebrow, staring at the other woman with barely concealed amusement.

The Queen scoffed, her lips twitching upwards despite herself as she turned to look at the Warlock Vanguard, "I will never understand you Guardian types. How is this, enjoyable?" She asked, gesturing to the crowd of dozens upon dozens of Guardians gathered in one not so large area, Oohing and Ahhing at the podiums of bronze, silver, gold and platinum hovering just behind Eva's stall that would be at the tower for the next few weeks.

"Guardian's are, simple people Mara." Ikora shrugged, "Give them a cool weapon, some new armor and you pretty much have their loyalty."

Mara huffed, "Yes, every Guardian's weakness, "loot." Even my Wolf isn't immune to the temptation of new gear." She said fondly but a voice coming from the crowd made the two woman turn to look at the incoming group before they could continue their conversation.

"She has the best gear." Nolan said, walking up to the tree with the rest of his fireteam with Shaxx, Saint and Osiris trailing behind them. "She's the most loot hungry guardian to ever exist, and that's saying something." He scoffed, causing Mara to smirk.

"She does like her weapons." The Queen affirmed, a fond expression on her face as she thought about her girlfriend, "I'll never understand what she sees in going on dangerous adventures for just a single weapon. I much prefer lying in bed with a good book with her head on my shoulder as she dozes off."

Lillian chuckled at her comment as she came to rest beside Zavala, "She's very much a cuddle bug. Whenever the five of us could convince her to take a rest, she'd always fall asleep half on top of me while cuddling my arm. She likes to pretend she doesn't though."
