Taylor's POV
"Baby, we gotta go!" Travis called from the front door where he was waiting for me, and had been waiting for me for the last five minutes.
"I know, I'm coming!" I called back, tugging on my white heels. "I'm sorry, I'm ready." I told him as I came out to see him leaning against the wall, arms folded. He sighed. "What?" I glanced down at my dress. I'd gone simple; white, long, tight but not showy, spaghetti straps. Basic.
"It's so hard to be annoyed at you for making us late when you look that damn delicious." My fiancé sighed, sliding a hand onto my back as he opened the front door. I bit down on a smile before remembering my red lipstick and running my tongue over my teeth just in case I'd stained them.
"I'm just flaunting one of my last few chances to wear a dress like this before I look like I swallowed a watermelon." I told him as he locked the front door and we started towards the car.
"You can still wear a dress like that." Travis frowned at me. "Why wouldn't you?" I shrugged.
"People might say I'm trying to draw attention to myself." I said after a moment. Travis just shook his head at me as he opened the car door, waiting until I was inside before closing it. I wasn't pregnant, not yet anyway. We wanted to wait until after the wedding to have kids, but we were already preparing for it. It was only a few months away now.
I changed the subject when Travis got in the car, asking him about the football practice this morning. It took us half an hour to drive to the hall where the event was, and when we pulled up, the place was full of cars. So full in fact we parked across the street so that it wouldn't be a hassle getting home later. Travis slipped his hand into mine at the first opportunity as we joined the few people slowly heading inside.
"Hey, you guys made it!" Blake waved as we came through the doors, clad in a beautiful gold dress. She came over and hugged me tightly before hugging Travis too.
"The place looks gorgeous." I told her. "You really did this all yourself?"
"Yeah, Ryan told me to just hire someone but I thought it was more personal if I did it myself." Blake grinned around at the hall decorated for her charity launch. "And thank you so much for donating to this you guys, it really means a lot."
"Of course." Travis smiled.
"It was our pleasure." I told her, and she grinned at me. I'd always wanted to start a charity of my own but had always been so busy, so when Blake had told me she was starting up one of her own, I'd been one of the first to put forwards money to start it up. Travis had too.
"You want a drink?" Blake looped her arm through mine as Travis spotted someone he knew and went to go and talk to them after kissing my cheek and promising to catch up soon.
"Oh, I'm not drinking at the moment. But if you've got anything non-alcoholic." I told her as she led me over to the bar.
"Not drinking?" Blake glanced down at my stomach and I laughed.
"No, not yet." I shook my head. "It's just a precaution."
"Right, of course. You would have told me straight away." She said, giving me a look that said you-better-tell-me-right-away.
"Naturally."
I ordered a non-alcoholic drink and chatted to Blake as the hall slowly filled up with people. Everyone stood around, listening to music, drinking, chatting, and reading the pamphlets Blake had crafted about her charity. She was really excited to finally get the charity off the ground, and I was really excited for her. She's put so much into this.
