Travis' POV
"Okay bye bye Sadie bear." Taylor cuddled our three and a half year old daughter to her chest, swaying gently from side to side. "Mommy will see you after the show okay?"
"Mommy owange!" Sadie tugged at the spaghetti straps of Taylor's first costume of the night.
"Yes that's right." Taylor giggled. "That's orange. Now you have to go to Daddy okay? Mommy has to go on stage."
Sadie nodded and Taylor kissed her nose before passing our daughter over, who clung to me like a monkey with her little arms wrapped around my neck. She was a carbon copy of Taylor and had been since the day she was born; wavy blonde hair, bright blue eyes, heart shaped lips and perfect little smile. I kissed her hair as Taylor picked up her first microphone, checking her makeup in the mirror before moving closer to me. She smiled up at me, lifting up in her sparkly orange boots to peck my lips lightly.
"See you out there." My wife murmured.
"We'll be cheering you on, as always." I touched her cheek and Taylor smiled. "Okay baby girl." I murmured to Sadie. "Let's go find our seats so we can watch Mommy okay?"
Taylor waved us off as we left her dressing room, and I carried Sadie out from backstage. Security took us to the VIP tent, which was empty for now. Tonight was the first night of Taylor's new tour, and she had been super excited over planning for the last two years. We'd worked all of the tour dates around big events in Sadie's life like her birthday and special occasions, so Taylor was only going to play shows every two weekends instead of every weekend like the last tour. She didn't want to take away any of her time with our daughter, and we'd organized this whole tour around Sadie.
"Daddy pretty!" Sadie pointed up behind the big star shaped stage, up to where orange and lilac sparks were flying across the screen as a pre-show video.
"Yes baby girl." I jogged her gently before I set her down on the little stool at the front of the tent so she could see. Sadie had insisted on dressing up the exact same as Taylor for the first show, with a floaty orange dress, sparkly boots, and lilac accessories. I couldn't help but take out my phone to take some pictures of her. Taylor would love to see them later.
Ten minutes later, the sparks on the screen started to transform into the album name, Riding High. Taylor had started writing it near the end half of the Eras Tour, and it was all about how she'd felt when her and I had first started to date. The whole album was about her life after meeting me, having Sadie, riding high on life. It was beautiful, and it had soared higher off the charts than any album she'd ever made before. Which I guess, she'd keep doing with every new album since she really was on top of the world. I was so proud of her, and I knew Sadie was too even though she didn't quite grasp the idea that her mother was famous.
"Hey Travis, Sadie." A voice from behind me said, and I turned around.
"Auntie Brina!" Sadie squealed, launching herself off the stool into Sabrina's arms. To her credit, Sabrina caught her easily, swinging her up to rest on her hip.
"Hey little monkey!" She cuddled Sadie close as Barry entered the tent behind her. We caught up for a minute or two before the opening music started to play and we all turned to the stage to see Taylor rise up in the middle of the star.
Sabrina kept a hold of Sadie since she was absolutely my little girl's favorite auntie, the two of them giggling together and pointing everything out. I chatted with Barry as Taylor sung her way through the opening number, blowing the sold out arena away. The crowd was singing almost louder than Taylor with her microphone, almost drowning her out and I could tell how happy that made her.
