Sydney Night 4
Travis' POVI smiled to myself as a spotlight illuminated my girlfriend, walking gracefully forwards towards the guitar and piano, clad in that beautiful blue dress she'd just quick changed into. She waved at a couple fans in the front row, wrinkling her nose as she smiled. It was the most adorable expression she ever made, and I watched, entranced, and she picked up her guitar and stepped up to the microphone.
"Well Sydney, welcome to the acoustic set!" She called out, and a roar rose up from the crowd. "You have been such an amazing city these last four days, thank you so much!" The screen behind her zoomed in on her face, broadcasting it to the cheering stadium. "I must say, I have really enjoyed playing here in Sydney again. You are just the most incredible crowd, and I want you to know just how much I love every single one of you." The crowd's volume rose again and she laughed, waiting for them to die down. "This is my last night here in Sydney, and I'm going to miss you all so much, so I thought I'd play you some extra special surprise songs."
The crowd roared so loudly I almost put my hands over my ears; they were jumping up and down as they went absolutely insane. It blew me away every time just how easy it was for Taylor to control this entire stadium with only a few words. They were wrapped around her fingers, and she knew it too. She knew they adored her, and she adored them too. She'd talked to me so many times about how much she loved her fans, wishing she'd be able to meet them all and tell them how much they meant to her.
"By now you guys know I have little spies out there, reporting back to me what you all want." Taylor was saying. "And I've been hearing rumors that you all desperately want me to sing Mary's Song, so that's what I'm going to do for you guys tonight." She didn't even finish her sentence before the fans went nuts again, somehow screaming even louder than before.
She played the song, smiling the whole time as everyone sang along with her. A lot of cameras swung my way near the end of the song - which I didn't really understand - but I assumed it had something to do with the lyrics. I knew her fans had associated me with some of the songs Taylor sang, such as Karma, so I really listened to the next lyrics she sang.
"..We'll rock our babies on that very front porch
After all this time, you and II'll be eighty-seven; you'll be eighty-nine
I'll still look at you like the stars that shine
In the sky, oh my my my..."I laughed to myself at the accidental reference, waving at a few cameras, but I couldn't look away from my beautiful girlfriend singing up on the stage. She was so damn gorgeous it killed me, and I almost melted when our eyes met across the dark stadium. Taylor looked right at me, stopped playing as the song ended, and then blew me a kiss. Deliberately. Obviously. My mouth almost dropped open. Changing the lyrics in Karma was one thing, meeting my gaze during songs was another, but she'd never so blatantly acknowledged me on stage before. I blew one right back at her, knowing that the motion would leave me plastered over the internet later, but knowing I didn't care.
As the last part of Karma blared through the stadium, Taylor's security escorted me out of the VIP tent, taking me backstage so I could meet her when she was finished. The fans all held cameras my way as I waited, desperate to catch a glimpse of their beloved singer. I had found it a little weird when I'd seen just how many people were watching videos of me and Taylor, but I'd gotten used to it. I knew Taylor was worried it would drive me away, but I'd promised her it never would. She'd stressed about it so much during the start of our relationship, but now, we loved each other out loud and proudly without a care in the world.
I heard Taylor coming before I saw her since the crowd started screaming, pointing their cameras off to the side. A moment later, my girlfriend rounded the corner, changed into some little black shorts and one of my shirts she'd stolen from my suitcase. I smiled, shaking my head to myself as she drew closer. Not only was she wearing my shirt, those damn shorts fit snugly to her body and drove me crazy. Taylor grinned, biting down on her lip. She knew.
