out of nowhere

Travis' POV

"Alright boys, wrap it up!" Andy rapped on the doorway. "We're done for today. Finish your sets and hit the showers."

A few of the guys responded to let him know he'd been heard, and we finished up with our workouts. Laughing and jostling around, we left the gym and showered, calling over each other as we changed from our training gear.

"I did not!" I laughed, shaking my head at Patrick as I buttoned my pants up.

"He did." Patrick insisted. "I swear to god."

Rolling my eyes at him, I grabbed my shirt and tugged it over my head. Then I dug in my jacket pocket for my phone, giving a cursory glance to my notifications before pausing, realizing I had a text from Taylor. She must have sent it while I was in the gym, since I'd checked my phone after we'd come in from the field.

Taylor: Can you come get me out of here? I'm in the middle of a meeting with a bunch of old men and I think I just got my period early

Shit, she had to be miserable. Taylor was too polite to leave a meeting, and from the sound of it, she was meeting with some of her legal team. They were all old men who were a little sexist if I was being honest, but they were good at their jobs. If she got her period in the middle of a meeting, she would be too scared to even get up. I texted her back.

Me: Of course baby, I'll be soon

"Hey, I can't make lunch, Taylor's sick." I told the guys. "I'll catch up with you later."

A little disappointed but understanding, the guys said goodbye. I left quickly, driving to the nearest grocery store. Unsure what supplies Taylor had, I picked up both tampons and pads for her, and then grabbed a packet of painkillers and some of her favorite snacks.

I got to Taylor's office soon after and was let up when security recognized me, not bothering to check my ID. I was always coming in and out, and they didn't mind. Taylor's assistant glanced up when I stepped out of the elevator onto the second floor and smiled.

"Hey Travis."

"Hey Jules." I smiled back at her. "What room is Taylor in?"

"Down in four." No one was really supposed to bother Taylor while she was in a meeting, but I was the unspoken exception.

"Great, thanks." I went down the hallway, tapping lightly on the right door as I pushed it open. Taylor shot me a grateful smile from where she was sitting at the end of the table as four or five men glanced up, pausing what they were conversing about. "Sorry to interrupt, but Taylor, we've got a little emergency. Could you guys pick this up another day?"

The men sighed and mumbled under their breaths but nodded grudgingly. I glanced at Taylor but she shot me a pleading look and I realized she was wearing her pale blue jeans. Shrugging out of my jacket, I walked down to where she sat and draped it over her shoulders. It was one of my longer jackets, and since Taylor was shorter than me, it hung low down her legs.

"You're good." I murmured in her ear when she stood up, her eyes flickering down to the chair. Taylor grabbed my hand, squeezing tightly. "Breathe baby." I knew she was probably in a lot of pain; her period always hit her hard out of nowhere. "You want to go to the bathroom or straight home?" I asked her once we were out of the room.

"Bathroom." Taylor mumbled, and I nodded, leading her down to the nearest bathroom. Locking the door behind us, I turned to see Taylor shrugging out of my jacket. "Fuck." She sighed, and I glanced down to see a dark red stain on the back of her jeans.

"Have you still got those spare sweatpants in your office?" I asked, and she nodded. "Okay, stay here. I'll go get them and you can change."

"Thank you." Taylor whispered, and I offered her a sympathetic smile as I moved out into the hallway.
