what texting under the table leads to

Taylor's POV

"And that's everything from me." Joan sat down, nodding to Malcom so he could talk. I sighed to myself, switching my legs that were crossed under the table. I knew I had to sit through the boring meetings as well as the fun ones, but it had been an hour already as I was bored out of my mind.

My phone vibrated twice on the table, and I reached for it, quickly shooting apologetic looks to my team as I turned it on silent. Swiping down, I glanced at my notifications bar. A text from Travis was waiting for me. Smiling to myself, I placed my phone into my lap under the table like I was texting in class in high school again and read the message.

Travis: You left a pair of underwear in my drawers baby

I bit down on a grin as I read and re-read the text. I'd been wondering how long it'd take for him to find those; I'd been in New York for two days already and had expected him to bring it up sooner. Trying to still pay attention to the meeting - but not really succeeding - I replied.

Me: I know, I left them there on purpose

Travis: You sneaky girl, are you trying to make me miss you even more?

Me: Maybe

Travis and I really struggled to be apart; it was a problem we'd been dealing with ever since we'd first started dating. I had to travel back and forth from New York a lot for work, and normally Travis would come with me, but the football season was just about to start and he'd had to stay in Kansas City for practice. I was meant to be back on Sunday right before the game, but I felt like I couldn't wait until then. Then another text came through and I glanced down to read it.

Travis: You minx, it worked. I miss you like hell baby girl

My cheeks flushed pink at the nickname, and I sat back in my chair, typing away. He knew what that nickname did to me; it drove me damn near insane. I loved it.

Me: Miss me huh?

Travis: Like you wouldn't believe

Me: I miss you too

Travis: So come home baby, surely missing one day of meetings isn't a big deal

Me: Actually, tomorrow I have a studio session and a promo photoshoot for the next album so I kind of have to stay

Travis: Well then you better be well prepared to be kept up all Sunday night

Me: I'm listening

I knew it wasn't a good idea to start a dirty conversation with Travis while I was in the middle of a meeting, but I was bored, and it was exciting. We were no strangers to doing things we shouldn't be doing in public. Tree had a constant headache because of us.

Travis: The team and their families are all having dinner after the game so we have to stop by there, but you better believe we won't be staying long

Me: You know, we don't have to leave the restaurant to catch up

Travis: Are you suggesting I drag you into the bathroom in the middle of dinner and fuck you against a wall?

Me: I'm saying it's an option, I know I couldn't wait until we got home

Me: I'm barely making it through this meeting

Travis: You're in a meeting right now?

Me: A marketing one

Travis: You should be paying attention

Me: I should be

There was a long stretch before Travis texted back so I looked up from my phone, tuning back in to the meeting. I hadn't missed anything important; I loved my team but sometimes they waffled on a bit too much. Then another text came through and I glanced down again.
