Travis' POV
"Good morning sir." The tall brunette behind the front desk smiled warmly when I walked through the glass doors, not looking up from her computer. She seemed busy. "How can I help you?"
"Travis Kelce." I said, and she glanced up at the sound of my name. "Is Taylor available?"
"I'm so sorry Mr Kelce, I didn't realize it was you." She seemed flustered, like she'd made a mistake. Her cheeks flushed as she tapped something into her computer and then scanned the screen. "She should just be done with her meeting. Go on up."
"Thank you." I smiled at her before passing the front desk to the elevator. Security eyed me up and down and then nodded in greeting, and I offered a small smile in return as I pressed the up button. The doors slid open immediately and I stepped inside, tapping the button for the thirteenth floor to go to Taylor's office (yes, she'd put her office on that floor on purpose).
I checked my phone while I waited, the paper bag swinging from my arm. I replied to a text from Jason about the next time we were going to hop on the podcast and scanned an email reminding me about my upcoming flight. Then the doors dinged open, and I stepped out onto the thirteenth floor. Not many people worked up here; just Taylor and her assistant. They held meetings up here and also had a studio to work in. For now, it was quiet.
"Hey Rhi." I gave Taylor's assistant a little wave as I approached her desk.
"Hey Travis, how's the back?" She poked the joke at me and I rolled my eyes. Rhi loved to tease me about how old I was, since she was just fresh into her twenties. She was only a month into this job, but she was great, and we got along really well.
"I could run circles around you, anytime, anyplace." I told her, and she made a face. "Taylor in?"
"Yeah, I think so. I just got back from lunch but I'm pretty sure she's finished with her meeting." Rhi leaned over and pressed a button on the desk intercom in the corner. "Miss Swift, you have a visitor." After a moment, the speaker crackled to life.
"How many times do I have to ask you to call me Taylor?" My girlfriend's voice said. "But thanks Rhi, send them in."
"Go ahead." Rhi leaned back in her chair as she reached for some papers, and I nodded before moving towards the door to the only personal office up here.
When I opened the door, I saw my girlfriend standing by the window, looking out at the city as she talked on the phone. She didn't hear me come in; too preoccupied with the conversation she was having. It sounded like a bunch of stuff to do with her new album. Closing the door behind me, I placed the bag down on her desk and then just stood there, gazing at her as I waited. God, she was beautiful. She was wearing one of those short, pleated skirts I loved so much that showed off her legs and would probably flash someone if she didn't wear those little shorts underneath. Paired with the tight long sleeve top she was wearing, she was fucking gorgeous.
I didn't understand how she didn't see it. Every time I called her beautiful, or gorgeous, or anything like that she wrinkled her nose like she didn't believe me. She used to protest, but I'd quickly taught her not to. Now she just made a face. But she was the most beautiful woman I had ever seen, and I'd spend the rest of my life with her trying to get her to see it too. Even now, she was just standing there talking, fiddling with a lock of her hair, she almost brought me to my knees.
"Okay, great. Thank you." She said. "Okay, bye." Taking her phone away from her ear, she turned around and then a bright smile spread across her face. "Oh hey handsome, what are you doing here?"
"I brought you lunch." I tapped the paper bag I'd placed on her desk. "You've been so busy lately I thought you might forget to eat, and I wanted an excuse to come and see you."
