Taylor's POV

"Hey Mom, did you end up getting the crackers I asked you to get?"

"Uh, yeah, they're in the..." I trailed off as I looked up. "What on earth are you wearing?"

"A dress, you like it?"

"Emma Marjorie Kelce, that is not a dress." I looked my daughter up and down. "That is a long shirt. Go change."

"Mom!" She complained. "It's not that short."

"You are fifteen, that's way too young to be wearing something like that. Maybe when you're eighteen. Change." I told her as I took the cake out of the oven, placing it on a cooling rack.

"No! Ugh, Dad!" Emma insisted as Travis came into the room from the front door, a bag over his shoulder. "Can you tell Mom she's being ridiculous."

"About what?" Travis asked, coming over and kissing my cheek. "Hey baby." He murmured.

"Hey." I smiled. "Good day?" I asked, and he nodded.

"She says my dress is too short!" Emma said. "She says I can't wear it tonight."

"It is a little short honey, why don't you just put some stockings under it huh?" Travis said, and I shot him a look. "Hey, it's called a compromise."

"Fine. Stockings. Now." I told her.

"Ugh!" She stamped her foot but stalked off to her room. Travis chuckled, putting his bag down on the floor.

"Trouble?" He asked, wrapping his arms around me from behind.

"She's just worked up." I sighed, leaning back against him as he kissed the curve of my neck. "You know how she gets before her birthday parties."

"I can't believe you're letting her invite boys." My husband told me. "To a sleepover party."

"Come on, we'll keep an eye on them. There'll be no funny business happening in this house tonight." I rolled my eyes.

"Oh damn, none at all?" Travis murmured in my ear. "That sucks for me."

I laughed, turning around in his arms once I'd taken the oven mitts off. Travis rubbed my back gently as I lifted my arms around his neck, smiling up at him. After a long moment, he pulled me close and kissed me softly, slowly. I sighed into his mouth, clutching him closer as warmth spread through me. Years of marriage, and our spark was still electric. I still got butterflies, all the time. It was like every kiss was our first. Then the kiss escalated slightly and Travis slipped his tongue into my mouth, his hands sliding underneath my shirt onto my bare back.

"Ew, Mom! Dad! Stop!" Emma yelled across the room and we broke apart with a sigh. "Please do not start doing that while my friends are here!" She insisted. I turned to look at her, still not happy with the length of her dark blue dress, but she'd put black stockings on underneath it, so it was a little better.

"Nothing wrong with a little love Ems." Travis told our daughter and she rolled her eyes. "Alright, you're the boss." He sighed, but he slid a hand over my ass, squeezing gently before grabbing his bag and going to put his things away. I smiled to myself as I turned off the oven and started getting out bowls for the snacks.

"Mom, please promise me you and Dad won't start making out while my friends are here." Emma pleaded as she hopped up on a stool across the counter from me. "You have no idea how gross it is when you guys start doing that."
