Travis' POV

A piercing scream reached my ears and I jolted awake. Startled, I lifted my head.

"No!" Taylor screamed, writhing where she was tangled in the blankets. "No!"

"Hey, baby, hey." I reached out. She screamed, thrashing out at me when I touched her arm. "Taylor, baby!" I shook her shoulder. "Baby, wake up."

Taylor's eyes flew open, wildly looking around before they landed on me. She cried out, throwing her arms around my neck. I blinked, confused as she started sobbing like she couldn't breathe, her whole body shaking.

"Hey." I crooned, sitting up and pulling her onto my lap, hugging her close. "Hey, what's going on baby? What's wrong?"

"I...you..." Taylor sniffled, sobbing.

"Okay, shh." I rubbed her back. "Shh, just breathe. You're okay. Calm down."

She must have had a nightmare, and it had obviously really rattled her. I just held her close, hugging her tightly. Being held always grounded her, and I needed to calm her down before she could tell me what had happened. Taylor cried for a long time, soaking the front of my shirt with tears as she sobbed. She didn't stop shaking, and I grew more and more worried about her as time went on. I'd never seen her so upset before.

After about twenty minutes, Taylor finally started to calm down a little. Her body slowly stopped shaking in my arms, and eventually, she looked up at me. I couldn't stand the look on her face. Her eyes were red, raw, terrified.

"What's going on baby?" I crooned.

"Are you okay?" She whispered. I blinked at her. "Are you okay?" Taylor asked again insistingly.

"Yeah I'm fine." I told her, confused. "Why?" Taylor sniffed, scrubbing furiously at her eyes. "Talk to me baby." I pleaded. I was really worried about her.

"I had a nightmare." Taylor mumbled, resting her head back against my chest with a heavy sigh. "You...you were dead. And I had the baby...and the baby..." She sobbed. "And the baby died too."

"Oh sweetheart." I rubbed her back.

"It was so real Travis. I felt it. All of it." Taylor sobbed as I tightened my arms around her.

"It's not real baby." I reassured her. "It was just a nightmare."

"I know, but..." Taylor sniffed.

"I know." I kissed her hair. "I know. But you're okay. Everything's okay."

"You promise you're not going anywhere?"

"I promise. I promise baby." I told her as she looked up at me. "You'll never lose me, not ever."

"You promise?" Taylor asked again, louder. I took her face in my hands, staring into her eyes.

"I promise." I said slowly. "I told you that you were stuck with me forever when you agreed to marry me, and I meant it." Taylor nodded, letting out a sigh of relief as she rested her forehead against mine. "I love you." I assured her. "I love you so much. Both of you." I placed a hand on her stomach, rubbing her bump gently. "You're okay."

Taylor nodded again as I stroked my fingers against her bump, smiling when I felt the tiny nudge of our baby kicking against my hand. She smiled, glancing down and placing her hand next to mine. Taylor gazed down lovingly at her stomach, but I couldn't look away from her. She glowed with happiness now that she'd returned to reality and realized everything was okay, and god, she was so beautiful.

Leaning that little bit in, I pressed my mouth against the corner of Taylor's lips, lingering there. She sighed, turning her head so that I could kiss her properly. Smiling, I tucked one hand into her hair and pulled her close.

"I love you." I whispered against her lips.
