Travis' POV
"Hey Jase." I answered the phone as it rang just as I parked. "How's it going?"
"Oh you know, same old." My brother chuckled. "Just calling about the pod, we still on for today?"
"Oh shit, sorry." I groaned. "I'm at the airport right now waiting for Taylor. Okay if I take a raincheck?"
"Yeah, yeah course." Jason agreed. "Forgot she was coming. We can do it once she leaves." Then he chuckled again. "So you nervous?"
"Shitting myself." I laughed.
Taylor and I had been dating for just over three months, and we'd slipped so easily into the couple dynamic, but due to her busy schedule this was her first time visiting me in Kansas City. She was staying with me for a few days in-between shows, and she'd seemed really excited about it, but I was so nervous. Taylor Swift, THE Taylor Swift was staying in my house for four days. My girlfriend. I was so worried I'd mess something up, but I hoped she would have a good time
"Well don't fuck it up, this woman will tear you down if you break her heart." Jason.
"Yeah, thanks." I rolled my eyes. "Catch you later okay?"
"Good luck!"
Shaking my head, I got out of my car and took the bundle of pink roses I'd bought on the way into my arms. Carrying them with me, I went into the airport and went down to arrivals. Taylor had taken a public flight because they hadn't been able to fit her jet in until tomorrow, and she'd wanted to be here today so she'd begged her security. They'd eventually allowed her to take a public flight with heavy security.
My heart pounded as I waited, watching the board even though it said her flight had already landed and there'd be no more updates. People started filtering out of the gate, running to their loved ones. I clutched the flowers, suddenly second guessing myself. Would she want different flowers? What if I got the wrong ones?
But then my time to worry ran out. Six men dressed in black walked out of the gate, surrounding a short blonde woman wearing a mask and a backpack over her shoulder. She stretched up on her tiptoes as she walked, searching the crowd. I lifted my hand, her eyes landed on me, and I could see her smile through her mask. Taylor nudged through her security even though they tried to stop her, running up to me and jumping into my arms. I lifted her off the ground in a tight hug, inhaling the soft smell of my girlfriend.
"Hey you." I murmured.
"Hi!" Taylor giggled as I set her back down on her feet. She tugged down her mask, stretching up and kissing me lightly. "Missed you." She said casually with a smile.
"I missed you too baby." I offered her the flowers and she gasped in delight.
"For me?" She asked, and I nodded as she took them and smelled the petals. "Travis they're beautiful, I love them. Thank you!" Taylor kissed me again, slipping her hand around the back of my neck to hold me close. "You're so sweet." She whispered, a light blush settling on her cheeks.
I spent a few minutes talking with Taylor's security, and then they agreed that Taylor and I could have time alone. They were staying just down the road and were happy with the security I had. Once we'd agreed on a time to check in, I took Taylor's bag from her shoulder and led her out to my car. She couldn't stop smiling, smelling the roses as I drove her back to my place. I asked all about the shows she'd just played, and she was more than happy to tell me everything about it.
"Okay." I smiled as I opened my front door. "This is my place."
"It's so light." Taylor murmured, smiling as she walked inside, slipping her shoes off before walking into the living room, looking around. "Oh look!" She giggled at the picture of me dressed up in a fairy costume for Wyatt's second birthday. "Cute."
