Y/N's POV

It was 3am when I suddenly woke up drenched in sweat, my heart racing and my breathing shallow. I couldn't remember what the nightmare was about, but the fear lingered on, making the room feel suffocating.

"Hey princess, are you alright?" Chris's voice cut through the darkness, his hand gently shaking my shoulder.

I let out a shaky breath, reaching out for him in the darkness. "Chris, I had a nightmare," I whispered, my voice filled with fear.

"Shh, it's okay, baby. I'm here now," he murmured, wrapping his arms around me and pulling me close to his chest. His warmth and the sound of his soothing voice were like a lifeline in the midst of my fear.

I buried my face in his chest, trying to calm my racing heart. "I don't even remember what it was about, but it felt so real," I admitted, feeling embarrassed by my own fear.

"It's okay, baby, nightmares can be like that sometimes. But I'm here now, and I won't let anything happen to you, okay?" he reassured me, planting a kiss on the top of my head, as I nodded my head after.

I clung to him, feeling safe and protected in his arms. "I love you, Chris," I whispered, the words feeling like a lifeline in the darkness.

"I love you too, baby. Now, why don't we try to get some more sleep? I'll stay with you until you fall asleep again," he suggested, his voice gentle and full of love.

I nodded, feeling grateful for his presence. "Okay," I whispered, closing my eyes and letting myself relax in his arms.

I could feel his steady heartbeat beneath my cheek, soothing me with its rhythm. His presence was like a warm blanket, wrapping me in comfort and security. Slowly but surely, the fear began to dissipate, replaced by a sense of peace and calm.

As my breathing evened out and my body relaxed, I felt myself drifting back into sleep, this time with Chris's arms around me, protecting me from the darkness.

When I woke up again, the sun was streaming through the window, casting a warm glow over the room. I turned my head to find Chris still sleeping peacefully next to me, his face relaxed and peaceful in slumber.

A smile tugged at my lips as I watched him, feeling grateful for his love and care. I knew that no matter what nightmares may come, as long as I had Chris by my side, I would always find comfort and solace in his arms.

I gently reached out to brush his hair away from his forehead, unable to resist the urge to touch him. He stirred slightly, his eyes fluttering open as he looked at me with a sleepy smile.

"Good morning, beautiful," he murmured, his voice filled with warmth and affection.

"Good morning, handsome," I replied, unable to contain my own smile at the sight of him.

He leaned in to press a soft kiss to my lips, his touch gentle and filled with love. "Did you sleep better after last night?" he inquired, his eyes searching mine for any lingering fear.

I nodded, feeling a rush of gratitude for him. "I did, thanks to you. Having you there with me made all the difference," I admitted, feeling my heart swell with love for him.

He wrapped his arms around me, pulling me close to his chest. "I'll always be there for you, baby. No matter what nightmares may come, I'll be right here to chase them away," he promised, his words filled with sincerity.

I buried my face in his chest, feeling overwhelmed by his love and care for me. "I love you so much, Chris. Thank you for always being there for me," I whispered, my voice filled with emotion.

"I love you too, beautiful. And I'll always be here for you, no matter what. We're in this together, always," he vowed, his arms tightening around me in a reassuring embrace.

As I lay in his arms, feeling his heartbeat beneath my ear, I knew that no matter what challenges or nightmares may come our way, as long as I had Chris by my side, I would always find the strength to face them.

And as we lay entwined in each other's arms, basking in the warmth of our love, I knew that no darkness could ever overshadow the light we shared together. For with Chris by my side, I felt invincible, ready to face whatever may come our way, one day at a time.
