Y/N's POV
The air was heavy with anticipation as we stood outside the decaying walls of the abandoned warehouse. My heart pounded in my chest, both from the excitement of potentially encountering a spirit and from the fear of what we might actually find inside. Sam, Kat, Colby, and I had been planning this ghost hunting adventure for weeks, and now that we were finally here, I couldn't help but feel a mix of nervousness and excitement coursing through me.
As we stepped through the broken doorway into the darkness of the warehouse, I felt a chill run down my spine. The air was thick with dust and decay, and the only sound was the echo of our footsteps on the concrete floor. Colby reached out and took my hand, squeezing it reassuringly. "Don't worry, babe," he whispered. "I've got you."
I nodded, grateful for his presence as we explored the empty corridors and rooms of the warehouse. As a medium, I was used to seeing spirits and ghosts, but something about this place felt different. The energy was oppressive, almost suffocating, and I could sense a malevolent presence lurking in the shadows.
Suddenly, a cold breeze swept through the room, causing me to shiver involuntarily. I felt a hand close around my throat, squeezing the life out of me. Panicking, I gasped for air, clawing at the invisible force that was choking me. "Help," I managed to choke out, my vision blurring as darkness crept in at the edges.
Colby's panicked voice cut through the haze. "No, let her go!" he shouted, his hands fumbling in the darkness to find me. Sam and Kat rushed to our side, pulling me away from the malevolent spirit that was trying to kill me. Gasping for breath, I clung to Colby, tears streaming down my face as he held me close, murmuring soothing words in my ear.
"It's okay, baby, you're safe now," Colby whispered, his arms wrapped protectively around me. "I won't let anything happen to you, I promise."
As my breathing gradually began to calm, Colby gently wiped away my tears and pressed a soft kiss to my forehead. Sam and Kat stood nearby, their expressions grim as they watched over us. "We need to get out of here," Sam said quietly, his eyes scanning the shadows for any sign of danger.
Nodding, Colby helped me to my feet, keeping a firm grip on my hand as we made our way back through the darkened corridors of the warehouse. The malevolent spirit seemed to have retreated, but I could still feel its presence lingering in the air, a cold chill that sent shivers down my spine.
Once we reached the safety of the outside, Colby sat me down on a nearby bench, his hand gentle on my shoulder as he knelt in front of me. "Are you okay, baby?" he asked, his voice filled with concern.
I nodded, feeling shaken but grateful for Colby's comforting presence. "I think so," I whispered, my voice trembling. "That spirit... it was so angry, so full of hate."
Colby's expression darkened, his jaw clenched with anger. "I won't let anything hurt you, I swear," he said fiercely, his eyes burning with determination. "I'll protect you with everything I have, no matter what."
Tears welled up in my eyes as I looked into Colby's gaze, feeling the depth of his love and devotion wash over me. "I love you, Colby," I whispered, reaching out to touch his cheek gently.
"I love you too, baby," Colby murmured, leaning in to press a soft kiss to my lips. The warmth of his touch chased away the lingering cold of the warehouse, filling me with a sense of comfort and security that I desperately needed in that moment.
Sam and Kat joined us on the bench, their expressions somber as they watched over us. "We need to be more careful next time," Sam said, his voice grave. "That spirit was dangerous, and we were lucky to get out of there alive."
I nodded, feeling a sense of gratitude for my friends and their protection. "Thank you all for being there for me," I said, my voice filled with emotion. "I don't know what I would do without you."
Colby squeezed my hand, his eyes soft with affection. "We're here for you, always," he said, his voice gentle and reassuring. "No matter what happens, we'll face it together."
As we sat together in the fading light of the evening, I felt a sense of peace settle over me. Despite the danger we had encountered, I knew that with Colby by my side, I could face anything. And as we left the abandoned warehouse behind us, my heart was filled with gratitude for the love and protection of my friends, and the unwavering devotion of the man I loved.
