Y/N's POV

I let out a small groan as another wave of discomfort washed over me, causing Jake to immediately rush over to my side.

"Are you okay, love?" Jake asked, his brows furrowed with concern as he gently rubbed my back.

"I'm okay, just...braxton hicks again," I managed to reply, trying to breathe through the pain.

Jake nodded understandingly before pulling me into his arms. "Let's get you off your feet, Y/N. I'll go run you a bath, it might help with the pain."

I gave him a grateful smile as he helped me up and guided me to the bathroom. The warm water felt like heaven as I sank into the tub, letting out a sigh of relief.

Jake joined me in the bath, sitting behind me and wrapping his arms around my swollen belly. "How's that, love? Feeling any better?"

I leaned back into his chest, closing my eyes as the warm water soothed my aching body. "Much better, thanks Jake. You always know how to take care of me."

Jake pressed a gentle kiss to the back of my neck. "I love you, Y/N. And I love this little one growing inside of you."

I smiled at his words, feeling a rush of love for both Jake and our unborn child. "I love you too, Jake. I couldn't ask for a better partner to go through this with."

He kissed my cheek and then spoke up "It's a girl, I know it is." I scoffed a bit and leaned into him more. "Definitely a boy." I whispered as Jake kissed my neck.

After the bath, Jake helped me out and wrapped me in a fluffy towel before leading me to our bedroom. I quickly got changed, as Jake helped me lay down on the bed and then he cuddled up next to me, his hand resting on my bump.

As the night went on, the braxton hicks intensified, causing me to whimper in pain. Jake's face was etched with worry as he tried to comfort me.

"Focus on me, love. Breathe through the pain," Jake murmured, running his fingers through my hair soothingly.

I clung to him, trying to find relief as the false contractions came and went. Jake whispered words of encouragement in my ear, his touch grounding me in the moment.

Finally, the pain subsided, leaving me exhausted and drained. Jake held me close, pressing soft kisses to my forehead.

"You're so strong, Y/N. I'm so proud of you," Jake whispered, his voice filled with love and admiration.

I snuggled closer to him, feeling safe and loved in his arms. "I couldn't do this without you, Jake. You're gonna be an incredible dad."

Jake smiled down at me, his eyes filled with tenderness. "I'll always be here for you, Y/N. No matter what. We'll get through this together."
