A/N~Part of the Grayson series.

Y/N's POV

I was at my breaking point. Grayson had been crying for hours on end and no matter what I did, I just couldn't seem to calm him down. Chris had been out all day with his brothers, Matt and Nick, recording in their car. I was home alone with Grayson, and the stress of dealing with a crying baby all day was starting to take its toll on me.

I sat on the sofa, tears streaming down my face as Grayson continued to wail in my arms. I had tried everything – feeding him, changing his diaper, rocking him – but nothing seemed to work. I was so tired, stressed, and feeling completely overwhelmed.

Just then, I heard the front door open and close, signaling Chris's return home. He walked into the living room and immediately noticed my distressed state. He crouched down in front of me, his eyes full of concern.

"Baby, what's wrong? Why is Grayson crying?" he asked, reaching out to touch my shoulder.

I took a deep breath, trying to calm myself down. "He-" I tried to speak but Grayson's wails overpowered my voice.

"Hey, baby, look at me, I'm here." Chris comforted me, as he held my face between his hands, wiping my tears away.

"He's been crying all day, Chris. I don't know what to do anymore. I'm so tired." I said, finally feeling defeated.

"I know you are baby, let me take him." Chris gently took Grayson from my arms, causing him to cry even louder.

"Aw, buddy, you're not happy today are you?" He sat down next to me on the sofa, placing Grayson on his chest and wrapping his arms around him. I leaned into Chris, seeking comfort in his embrace.

Chris picked up one of Grayson's children's books from the coffee table – The Gruffalo. He began to read aloud, his voice soothing and calm. As he read, I watched in amazement as Grayson started to calm down and his cries turned into soft whimpers.

I closed my eyes, feeling the tension in my body slowly melt away. The rhythmic sound of Chris's voice and the warmth of his embrace were exactly what I needed in that moment.

After Chris finished reading the book, I realized that both Grayson and I had fallen asleep. I jolted awake when I felt Chris gently shaking my shoulder.

"Baby, let's get you and Grayson to bed," Chris said softly, a smile playing on his lips.

Chris carefully picked up Grayson, putting him back on his chest and carried him upstairs to his nursery, laying him down in his crib. He then came back downstairs and scooped me up in his arms, carrying me to our bedroom.

He laid me down on the bed, tucking the blankets around me before leaning down to kiss my forehead. "I love you, princess. You're an amazing mama, don't ever forget that," he whispered, kissing my lips before heading to the bathroom to get ready for bed.

As I drifted off to sleep, I felt a sense of peace wash over me.

Time Skip

When I wake up, I find myself lying in bed with Chris's arm wrapped around me, as he leans against the headboard on his phone. I can see the soft light filtering through the curtains, signaling that it's morning. I feel well-rested and at peace, knowing that Chris is by my side.

"Morning baby, I'm just gonna check on Grayson, did he wake up in the night?" I asked, as I sat up, rubbing my eyes.

"Nope, slept all through the night. The Gruffalo is a magical book." He says, both of us laughing at his comment.

I get out of bed and make my way to Grayson's nursery, where I find him sleeping soundly in his crib. I smile at the sight of my precious boy, feeling grateful for the love and care that Chris provides for our family.

As I make my way back downstairs, I see Chris standing in the kitchen, sipping on a cup of coffee. He looks up and smiles warmly at me, his eyes filled with love and affection.

"I'm sorry I wasn't here for you earlier, baby," Chris says softly, setting his cup down. "I promise to spend more time with you and be more supportive from now on. You and Grayson are my whole world, and I'll do whatever it takes to make sure you both are happy and healthy."

I feel a surge of emotion welling up inside of me as I wrap my arms around Chris, holding him close. "Thank you, Chris, but please don't take time away from your career, that means the world to you and your brothers," I whisper, feeling the weight of my love for him in that moment, as he nods.

Together, we stand in the kitchen, embracing each other in the warm morning light.
