TW~Loosing a leg, pain and mentions of hospitals and surgery.

Y/N's POV

As I sat in the chair, nerves and excitement coursing through me, I couldn't help but reflect on the past few months. The car crash, the agonizing pain, the surgeries...and the loss of my left leg. But through it all, Colby had been by my side, holding my hand, wiping away my tears, and cheering me on every step of the way.

And today was a big step forward in my recovery. Today, I was going to try walking with my prosthetic leg for the first time. The physiotherapist explained the process to me, and I nervously awaited Colby's arrival with a mix of anticipation and fear.

When he walked into the room, my heart skipped a beat. His smile was my anchor, his gaze filled with nothing but love and encouragement. He brought a stuffed toy with him, like he always did to celebrate my achievements in recovery, and placed it on the table next to me.

"Hey, baby girl," he said softly, sitting next to me and brushing a strand of hair away from my face. "Are you ready for this?"

I nodded, taking a deep breath and bracing myself for the pain that would undoubtedly come with this first attempt.

Colby helps me stand up, and I let out a small whimper of pain, not being used to standing on only having one leg. He gives me a reassuring smile and wraps his arms around my waist, just like the physiotherapist instructed. I wrap my arms around his neck, feeling the familiar warmth of his body against mine, as he kisses my temple.

The physiotherapist attaches my prosthetic leg to the top of my thigh where they had to amputate my left leg. The metal and plastic feel foreign against my skin, but I try to push aside the discomfort. I take a deep breath and focus on Colby in front of me.

"Ready, Y/N?" Colby asks, his eyes filled with encouragement and love.

I take a deep breath, nodding my head, as I start to walk, each step sending waves of pain through my body.

Colby's words of encouragement and praise fill my ears, pushing me forward. I stumble, my legs shaking from the effort, but Colby's grip on me never wavers.

"You're doing amazing, baby girl. You're so strong," Colby whispers, his words giving me the strength to keep going.

I make it halfway down the rail before the pain becomes too much to bear. The physiotherapist quickly places a chair behind me, and I collapse into it, tears streaming down my face.

Colby crouches down in front of me, holding both of my hands in his. "I'm so proud of you, Y/N. You're a fucking superhero."

I let out a shaky breath, feeling overwhelmed by everything. The pain, the fear, the uncertainty of what lies ahead. But as I look into Colby's eyes, I see nothing but love and unwavering support.

"I want to try again," I say, my voice barely above a whisper. "I want to keep going."

Colby's face softens, his eyes filled with admiration. "I believe in you. We'll take it slow, okay? You can do this baby girl, just focus on me, not the pain. "

With Colby's help, I stand up once again, my legs shaking with each step. But I focus on the sound of his voice, the feel of his arms around me, guiding me forward.

"You're a warrior, Y/N. You're so brave," Colby whispers, his words wrapping around me like a warm blanket.

I make it to the end of the rail, my breath coming out in ragged gasps. The chair is moved behind me, and I collapse into it, feeling drained but accomplished.

Colby kneels in front of me, wrapping me in a tight hug. "I'm so proud of you, baby girl. You did it."

As I was wheeled out of the hospital, my heart raced with excitement and nerves. I couldn't believe that after eight long months, I was finally going home. The sun shone brightly in the sky, casting a warm glow over everything. And standing at the edge of the hospital entrance were Sam, Colby, and Jake, each holding a stuffed animal in their hands.

"Hey, baby girl! Look how strong you are, you're finally coming home." Colby exclaimed, his eyes filled with pride and love.

I smiled up at him, feeling a surge of determination wash over me. I had a surprise in store for everyone, and I couldn't wait for them to see it.

"Ready to go home, Y/N?" Sam asked as he started walking towards me, Jake following behind him.

I took a deep breath, steadying myself for what I was about to do. As we reached the edge of the hospital grounds, I lifted myself out of the wheelchair, using my prosthetic leg for support. The shock on everyone's faces was priceless.

Colby's eyes widened with disbelief as tears welled up in his eyes. He couldn't believe that I was standing and walking towards him. I could see the pride and love shining in his eyes as I continued to take some weak steps towards him.

"Oh my god, you're doing it, you're walking, holy shit!" Colby said as I reached him. He embraced me in a tight hug, his lips finding mine in a sweet, tender kiss.

Sam and Jake stood speechless, their expressions a mix of shock and joy. I took a few more steps towards them, my heart swelling with gratitude for the unwavering support they had shown me throughout my recovery.

"YES Y/N, I KNEW YOU COULD DO IT!" Jake shouted, wrapping his arms around me in a hug, Sam doing the same afterwards.

"Let's go home." I said, Colby helping me into the car as Jake put the wheelchair into the boot of the car.

When we finally reached home, I was met with a chorus of cheers and applause. Everyone was here, my brothers, Matt, Nick and Chris, Corey, Aaron, Seth, Josh, Tara, Kat, Johnnie and Larray, and they were all holding a stuffed animal, in celebration of my recovering. Also, surrounding the room where the other stuffed animals, from my recovery leading up to this point.

Colby wheeled me towards the centre of the room, as everyone cheered and clapped. In a moment, I decided that I would stand up and walk to Matt, Nick and Chris, which would be a shock and surprise to everyone.

"Guys, I have a surprise." I said, as a few of them cocked a brow in confusion.

Gathering the strength I had, I stood up, and took some shaky, weak steps towards my brothers, as some people gasped and screamed in excitement.

"Y/N OH MY GOD, YOU'RE WALKING!" Nick yelled, as he wrapped his arms around me followed by Matt and Chris. I heard a few sobs from them which made my heart tense for a moment.

"Guys, don't cry, it's okay, I'm okay." I said, pulling away from the hug, as I wiped away some of Chris' tears.

Chris helped me sit back down, as I wasn't strong enough to stay standing up for a long period of time. Everyone else came over to give me a hug, and to give me a stuffed animal in celebration for my recovery.

"You did it, Y/N! We never doubted you for a second," Corey said, giving me a high-five, as I thanked him, and gave him a hug.

Tara was my best friend and she was nearly in tears from the whole situation, but they were happy tears.

Finally, everyone was chilled out, as I sat on the sofa next to Colby and Johnnie. I looked over at a small cabinet to see all of the stuffed animals on display, labelled 'Y/N's Recovery', and that alone made my heart swell as I leaned into Colby.

"I'm so proud of you Y/N, you've come so far, and I'm proud to call you mine." Colby whispered, kissing my forehead, as I took in the scene around us, being surrounded by love and support.
