TW~Grief from the death of a loved one.

Y/B/N~Your bestfriend's name.

Y/N's POV

As soon as we arrived at The Conjuring House, I could feel a mix of excitement and nervousness bubbling inside me. I mean, who wouldn't be a little freaked out about staying in a house with such a dark history for a whole week? But I knew I had Sam and Colby by my side, and that gave me some comfort.

We wasted no time in setting up our equipment and getting ready for our first night of investigating. Cody and Satori were eager to try out their method of communication with spirits, and I tried to keep an open mind about it all. We all sat around the room, with Cody and Satori standing in front of the table, holding hands, as they spelled out the alphabet and waited for a response from the other side.

I watched in fascination as we heard taps on the floorboards spelling out words and messages from the spirits. But nothing could have prepared me for what happened next. Satori asked for the name of the spirit trying to communicate with us, and slowly spelled out the letters until she landed on a familiar name.

"Y/B/N?" she whispered, another tap, meaning 'yes', and my heart stopped. Y/B/N was my best friend who had tragically died in a car crash two years ago. I couldn't believe it. I felt tears welling up in my eyes as I struggled to process what was happening.

"Are you okay, Y/N?" Colby asked, concern lacing his voice. I could see the worry in his eyes, and I knew he was feeling just as shocked as I was. Sam put a comforting hand on my shoulder, and I couldn't hold back the sobs any longer.

Cody and Satori asked if I needed a break, and I nodded, unable to speak. I stumbled outside, needing some fresh air to clear my head. I sat on the porch, trying to process everything that had just happened. I was happy to have heard from Y/B/N, but overwhelmed with the flood of emotions that came with it.

After a few minutes, Sam joined me outside, his eyes red, puffy and filled with tears. He told me that he had just spoken to his grandma Libby who had passed away, and we both sat in silence, sharing our grief and disbelief at the connections we had made with our loved ones.

"That's so crazy Y/N, they're here." Sam said, still in shock from the whole situation.

We eventually calmed down enough to go back inside, where Colby greeted us with a worried expression. He had put the camera down on the table, still recording, and was ready to comfort us both as we continued our investigation.
