What If Ash was in Pokemon Horizons?

READY GO! Unite Battle!!

Ash's Rotom Phone rang loudly, "You have a call from: Friede"

Ash picked up the phone, "Hey Friede, what's up?"

Liko, Roy, Dot and Ult lean in to listen to the conversation, "Hey gang," Friede greeted. "A colleague of mine, Professor Phorus needs a team for a Unite Battle later today, a team dropped out last minute and I was hoping you five would take their place."

"A what battle?" Ash asked.

"I think i saw something about that online.." Dot muttered.

"A Unite Battle," Friede explained, "It's a type of battle where five trainers work together as a team to score points."

"Well, I really wanna try that out!" Ash exclaimed, "We're in!"

The Brave Olivine soars into the air and docks in Aeos Island a couple hours later. Ash eagerly looks around the new location as they enter the Remoat Stadium. Professor Phorus greets them as soon as they enter, "It's an honor to have you participating in our battle, Mr. World Monarch and saviors of Laqua." she seemed gratefully, "And on such short notice as well, we've enevr had a crowd this large. The Shining Oceans are ready for a good fight."

"It was no problem!" Ash exclaimed, "We wanted to give these kinda battles a try!"

Professor Phrous laughed at the young boy's energy, "Now, what Pokemon would you like to select for the battle?"

"The Pokemon already out, duh!" Ult remarked, causing Roy to elbow him.

"Wonderful," Professor Phorus said, handing each trainer a small card. "Here are the Unite Licenses for your selected Pokemon partners, you'll find the info about their Unite Moves and what they do on there."

The Pokemon dress up in yellow-colored jerseys and walk down to the stadium wearing earpieces as the trainers watch from above donning their own earpieces. The Unite Battle starts at the end of a countdown as the Pokemon rush into the stadium.

"Okay team!" Ash lead the pack, "First up, we gotta gather Aeos energy by beating Wild Pokemon. I say we split up and cover more ground!"

"On it!" Ash's friends exclaimed.

Sableye and Pikachu easily defeat an Aipom and Corphish, Meowscarada defeats two Combee and targets a Vespiquen only for a shield bathed in a red-light to spin towards her, forcing her to dodge the attack and have Vespiquen take the attack instead.

"Woah, that was Brutal Swing and a Sirfetch'd's shield. Ash did your Sirfetch'd sneak onto the field?" Roy asked, remembering how Ash's Sirfetch'd uses Brutal Swing in the exact-same way.

"Don't look at me!" Ash exclaimed, his Sirfetch'd releasing itself from its Poke Ball to confirm it is not out on the field.

The shield is recalled into the wings of a Sirfetch'd wearing a blue jersey. "It's a Pokemon on the other team, obviously." Dot observed.

A Clefable donning the same jersey joins Sirfetch'd in attacking the Vespiquen and Meowscarada.

"Shoot, the Shining Oceans found us." Roy remarked.

"We're fine guys," Dot said, "Whoever lands the last hit gets the Aeos energy."

Liko nodded, "Meowscarada, use Flower Trick!"

"Block it, Sirfetch'd!"

Meowscarada attempts to strike the Vespiquen, only for Sirfetch'd to block the attack with its shield. 

"Alright, I'll help ya out Liko!" Ash decided, "Pikachu, go lend a hand!"

Pikachu scampers towards Meowscarada, "Stop that Pikachu! Use Shadow Claw!" A Zoroark donning a blue Jersey gets in Pikachu's way and swipes with Shadow Claw, which makes Pikachu jump out of the way.
