What If Ash was in Pokemon Horizons?

Roy and Fuecoco's First Snow!

Ash, Roy, Liko and Dot head inside to a clothing store to grab some winter clothes, Ash opts to stay hidden so people don't recognize him and just use his orange jacket he kept after a Project mew mission. The other trainers exit the sotre donning layers of warm clothing and they begin their journey to Montevera. Dot checked the GPS on his Rotom Phone, "Looks like we'll have to pass Mount Glasado to get to Montevera."

Floragato points to a nearby location where a Bergmite is feasting on berries, a Delibird and a Snorunt arrive to try the berries too, Fuecoco joins in, but snow falls from a nearby tree onto it, leading the Bergmite to think that Fuecoco is a Frigibax. An actual Frigibax appears next to Fuecoco, and Bergmie tackles both of the Pokemon away. 

Roy runs over to where Fuecoco crashed, "You okay, buddy?"

Fuecoco doesn't get a chance to respond as Frigibax and Bergmite begin to battle.Hattrem emerges from its Poke Ball and knocks both Pokemon out. The trainers then spot a frozen lake nearby and slide across the ice with their partner Pokemon, before making snow angels and a snowy Captain Pikachu in the nearby snow that they take a group picture with.

Dot spots a cabin nearby, "Hey, what's that?"

Dot heads towards the cabin, her friends quickly following her. They take in the interior, seeing enough room to house them and remain warm through the night.

"Think we should crash here for the night," Ash suggested, "We can make it to Montenevera tomorrow."

"Alright, but we should probably get some wood to make a fire before nightfall." Dot said,  "We should split up, cover more ground."

"Alright, Roy and I can go North" Ash offered.

"Then Dot and I'll go South." Liko added on.

"Just make sure to get back before it gets dark." Dot concluded as they split off.

Ash and Roy stock up on firewood pretty quickly with the help of Pikachu and Kilowattrel. "Alright, that's way more than enough!" Ash cheered.

Roy looked around, realizing one familar Pokemon wasn't with them, "Uh, Ash? Have you seen Fuecoco?"

"No, I haven't. " Ash replied, "Knowing him, the little guy probably ran off to get more wood, I'll help you look for him."

The boys search around the area, Roy notices a Pokemon covered in snow and thinks it's Fuecoco, but it's actually a Frigibax that runs away. Meanwhile Ash finds the Snow Captain Pikachu they made earlier, "Dude, I think we're going in circles."

The boys continue their search as the sun begins to set, Ash notices Roy acting more reserved than ever. "You feeling okay?" Ash asked.

Roy nodded, "I just never imagined being separated from Fuecoco could feel like this."

Ash smiled, "I get it, I felt the same way whenever I get separated from Pikachu," Ash turned to Pikachu who sat on his shoulder, "Isn't that right bud?"

"Pika!"

Roy glared in determination, "But, I'm not gonna give up!"

Ash smirked, "Good, Fuecoco wouldn't either!"

Roy begins to sing, causing Fuecoco to find them soon after, Roy immediately scoops his Pokemon into his arms. The boys quickly return to the cabin, finding Liko and Dot already inside with the fireplace fueled.

"There you guys are," Liko sighed with relief, "We've been worried."

"Did you guys even grab any wood?" Dot asked.

Ash and Roy look down at their hands, realizing they left the wood behind when they went looking for Fuecoco.

Ash chuckled sheepishly. "Guess we lost it, we've had a long day."

The trainers spend the night with Roy retelling what happened alongside Fuecoco. His friends seeing the pure determination in his eyes, knowing that Roy isn't going down against Rhyme without a fight.
