What If Ash was in Pokemon Horizons?

A Dream Ball For You!

The next morning, the trainers search around Lumiose City for Navi's Dream Ball as Emma does her morning patrols, helping some Trubblish, Ash defeats a rampaging Litleo wth Pikachu and Emma reveals her Mega Ampharos to restore a power outage.

The trainers gather near a fountain for a lunch break, munching on some Lumiose Galettes. "Hey!" Navie recalled, "This is where Navi met Emma and Mimi!"

"Oh really?" Clemont asked, "What were you doing before Emma found you?

Navi thought for a moment, "Navi doesn't remember, all Navi did was hang out with the Pokemon here."

A Furfrou in the Pharaoh Trim walks past the trainers, donning a taller hat than what Furfrou in that trim commonly adorn. The taller part of the hat splits off from the Furfrou and transfoms into Ditto.

"Hey, it's Ditto." Roy recognized, "What are you doing out here?"

Ditto revealed the Dream Ball, which makes Navi beam. "Navi's Dream Ball!" she took the ball into her hands before hugging Ditto. "Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!"

"Guess she left that behind on the Brave Olivine yesterday." Ult theorized, "Pretty mega-rookie move if you ask me."

Navi stuck her tongue out at Ult once again before sitting with Ditto at a nearby table. The two of them share Navi's coffee-milk whilst laughing as the others watch with knowing smiles.

"They remind me of Bonnie and Dedenne." Clemont remarked.

"Y'know, something tells me she's gonna catch Ditto today." Ash estimated, "Hey Liko, wanna make another bet?"

"I'm good." Liko chuckled, "I don't wanna lose money, like last time."

By the afternoon, Navi and Ditto watched with the others as Ash and Clemont engaged in a friendly battle just outside Prism Tower. Pikachu spars against Diggersby in a familiar fashion to the two trainers. Ditto takes a look at Navi before transforming into Pikachu and mimicking his attacks before transforming into Diggersby and mimicking its attacks as well. Navi giggled as Ditto reenacted the entire battle just by itself.

"You're really cool!" Naci exclaimed once the laughing stopped, "You get to transform into anything you want."

As the sun begins to set over Lumiose City, the Rising Volt Tacklers stand outside the Brave Olivine as they prepare to depart. Roy and Ult hug Emma as Ash and Clemont fist-bump.

"it was good seeing you all again." Emma said gratefully.

"Seriously, come again." Clemont added on.

"Of course we'll be back!" Ash reassured as they began walking into the airship.

"It was nice meeting you, Navi!" Liko called out.

"Bye..." Navi's tone lacked any emotion as she didn't break her gaze from Ditto, clutching her Dream Ball tighter. Not noticing Mimi glowing with a purple energy and Emma perking up, as if listening to her Pokemon.

Emma, Clemont and Navi watch as the Brave Olivine soars off into the night. "Mimi told me how you've been feeling Navi." Emma revealed.

"Huh?" Navi perked up.

"I'm starting to think you already found your dream." Emma theorized, "I'll admit I've been relying on you too much and that's stopping you from going on a journey of your own. But, I think now is the time for you to grasp your dream and join the Rising Volt Tacklers and explore the world.."

"Really?" Navi asked.

Clemont chuckled, "You better hurry!" He teased, "Before they fly too far!"

Navi nodded before jumping from rooftop to rooftop, chasing after the large airship with just her feet. She suddenly stops at the end of one rooftop with no others in sight for her to jump onto. Navi desperately reaches out to the airship with her hand as the Brave Olivine gets further away. Navi's breath hitches as she curls into herself, her body shaking with sobs.

Suddenly, Navi hears something nearby, she looks up to see Ditto taking on a chibi-like appearance of Ult's Dragonite flying towards her. Ditto docks and transforms back as Navi hugs the Pokemon tightly.

The other five trainers land on the rooftop thanks to Dragonite, Kilowattrel, Gholdengo and Staraptor. "So this is why Clemont called and asked me to turn the airship around." Ash observed.

"Still, you can't just jump outta the airship without us knowing, Ditto." Dot scolded.

"I'm guessing you wanna be with Ditto, right?" Liko asked.

Navi nodded, "Navi wants to be like Ditto too. Navi wants to be anything and do anything Navi wants to."

"Sounds like you got the perfect Pokemon for that Dream Ball then." Roy remarked.

Navi smiled and held out the Dream Ball to Ditto. The Pokemon eagerly presses the center-button and allowed itself to be caught.

"Navi would like the join the Rising Volt Tacklers too." Navi explained.

Ult's eyes widened, "Huh?!"

Ash chuckled, "Sounds good to me. I'll have Mudrock dock the ship and we'll head out tomorrow morning instead. I wanna give Navi some time to pack her things from Emma's place."

"But, I don't wanna be stuck with her!" Ult exclaimed.

"You're not the only one in the group, Ult." Roy remarked, "Plus, we're stuck with you and we don't complain."

The next day, the five trainers wait outside the Looker Bureau as Navi rushes out donning a new outfit, a Rotom Phone and a themed purse for Ditto to sit in. Emma and Clemont walk beside her as they arrive at the Brave Olivine.

"Alright Navi, before we go I wanna introduce you to the rest of the group." Ash explained before leading Navi to the three adults. "That's Orla, Mollie and Murdock," Ash pointed to each of them by name, "Orla helps run the ship, Mollie can heal up both us and our Pokemon and Murdock cooks for us. If you need anything like that or just need a grown-up, look for them."

The adults smiled welcomingly as Navi excitedly rushed into the ship as they followed. Ash's friends also head inside, as Roy has to nudge Ult along, the boy appearing absolutely defeated. Ash turns to look at Emma and Clemont one last time.

"Okay, now we're actually saying goodbye." Ash declared.

"It was wonderful for you to visit, Ash." Emma said.

"Yeah, I made a lotta good memories in Kalos, always nice to come back." Ash smiled, "And don't worry, we'll look out for Navi like we're doing for Ult."

Emma chuckled, "I appreciate it."

 Ash turned to Clemont, "And Clemont? Tell Bonnie I hope she feels better."

Clemont nodded, "Will do."

Ash then ran into the Brave Olivine and the airship took to the sky before long. Emma and Clemont wave goodbye as the Rising Volt Tacklers head off towards their next adventure.
