What If Ash was in Pokemon Horizons?

Nemona and Penny lead everyone towards the Pokemon League, "Alright, we're here!" Nemona exclaimed, poitning at the tall light-grey building, "Welcome to the home of the Paldea Elite Four!"

Nemona leads everyone to the doors, which open ebfore they can head inside. Larry, Hassel, Ann and Iono come out.

"Liko! Ash!" Ann ran up and hugged her two friends, "I saw the video Exceed made, I knew that it wasn't true! I'm so glad you guys are okay!"

"Thanks, Ann." Liko said gratefully.

"You've got a lot of support, World Monarch," Larry told Ash, "I'm impressed, Strong Spheres have been banned in more cities than I thought."

"Thanks, Larry," Ash smiled. "Soon, they'll be banned everywhere.

Iono playfully elbowed Dot, "Glad to see ya in one piece."

"Hey Roy, I was hoping we could battle." Nemona offered, "We haven't done that in a while.

"Oh yeah!" Roy said eagerly.

"I wanted a rematch from last time, Dot." Penny declared.

Dot grinned, "You're on."

Hassel stepped forward, "Ult, I've heard you've acquired a mighty Dragonite, I wish to battle against it."

Ult shrugged, "Sure, whatever."

"I definitely wanna show you how strong I've gotten, Liko!" Ann exclaimed.

"I wanna show you how strong Ive gotten too!" Liko smirked.

Ash looked to Larry, "Looks like we're due for a rematch!"

Iono suddenly stepped between them, "Actually, I was kinda hoping you and I could battle."

"You wanna battle me?" Ash asked, "Why?"

"Well duh! You're like the storngest trainer in the world!" Iono smiled sheepishly, "Plus, I'm a little paralyzed right now. See, there's this new streamer in Kalos, loves Electric types just like moi! Everyone's attention is on her content, and I gotta figure out how to trend again!" Iono explained, "So, what better way to get my name back on the board than a live streamed battle against the World Monarch!"

Ash raised an eyebrow, "You sure? I'm not sure a lot of people like me right now."

Iono scoffed, "Pfft, please! You're not like totoally hated, you're more controversial. And I know more than anyone that controversy could give me a boost in numbers."

Ash smirked, "Alright, you're on!"

Iono sets up a livestream on her Rotom Phone, the device moves around the battlefield as Ash sends out his Gengar and Iono sends out her Mismagius.

"Let's start this off with Will-O-Wisp!"

Mismagius attempts to evade Gengar's attack, but Gngar chases it around. Successfully landing the Will-O-Wisp and burning Mismagius.

"If you wanna play with fire, then we will to! Mystical Fire!"

Mismagius strikes Gengar with a fury of flames, "Shadow Ball!" Ash exclaimed.

"Counter that with your own Shadow Ball!" Iono shouted

Both collide and immediately explode, "Charge Beam, full power!" 

Misgmagius shoots a beam of electricity at Gengar, "Counter it with Dazzling Gleam!" Ash commanded.

Gengar's body glows in a rainbow hue, the Pokemon forces the hue off it's body and against the Charge Beam. Misgmagius forces the Charge Beam to hit, but suddenly flinches as the burn from Will-O-Wisp returns. Allowing Gengar to strike with Dazzling Gleam.
